Tien 'cheated' is not a valedictorian, does not have a university degree

Nguyen Thanh Long (also known as Tien "the cheater") was admitted to Vietnam Maritime University. However, in the classroom, Tien "the cheater" failed many subjects, leading to him having to drop out and not having a diploma from the school.

The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department ( Hai Phong City Police) recently arrested Nguyen Thanh Long (born in 1988, residing in Hai Phong City) and 2 others to investigate the act of organizing illegal use of drugs.

Nguyen Thanh Long is also known to many social media users as Tien "scam".

Tien "bip" is a famous online gangster on social networking platforms YouTube, Facebook, TikTok... The character Tien "bip" often appears in livestream clips with a large number of followers.

These clips also caused a lot of controversy when Tien "con" often talked about the morality and life motto of the underworld.

After Tien "cheated" was arrested, fanpages and social media groups spread information that this person had been valedictorian of the Vietnam Maritime University.

Regarding the information circulating about Tien “cheating” his academic results, speaking with VietNamNet , a representative of Vietnam Maritime University said that Nguyen Thanh Long was a student of the school’s 50th class, enrolled in 2009. However, the school representative affirmed that Long was not the school’s valedictorian, both in entrance and exit.

Specifically, Long got an entrance score of 24.5; passed the Ship Design major in the Shipbuilding faculty; but was certainly not the top student.

In the first school year 2009 - 2010, Nguyen Thanh Long had poor academic results. General Chemistry was spread on the internet as his favorite subject, but in reality, converted to a score of 10, he only got about 6.3 points.

In the second semester of the 2013-2014 school year, Nguyen Thanh Long registered for 10 subjects but all of them received an F - meaning he failed, could not pass the subject.

Due to failing many subjects and getting F grades, Nguyen Thanh Long dropped out of school in his final year and did not graduate.

“Nguyen Thanh Long registered for the last time in the first semester of the 2014-2015 school year with one subject in ship welding and continued to receive an F. After that, Long did not register for any more classes, meaning he dropped out of school and did not graduate,” this person said.

This person emphasized: "Thus, Nguyen Thanh Long did not meet the graduation requirements, so he was not granted a degree; let alone graduating as valedictorian as spread online."
