The sweet rewards of choosing the right field.
Lan Thanh studied tourism and travel management at a university in Ho Chi Minh City. However, after about two semesters, Thanh realized that she wasn't really suited to the field. She decided to defer her studies and take time to reconsider.

Mr. Tran Van Tu, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics, presents the graduation certificate to Dang Thi Lan Thanh, the valedictorian of the marketing major.

The school awarded certificates of merit to the new graduates who achieved outstanding academic results during the school year.
A year later, Thanh applied to the Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics. "When I announced that I was going to college, my parents were a little sad, but the family still respected and supported my decision," the top-scoring student confided.
Thanh recounted a period when she felt discouraged and lost because she started late. She also worried about whether she could succeed in college. However, everything completely changed after just one semester at the school.
Holding her excellent graduation certificate, Lan Thanh felt happy because, despite starting a little late, she had reaped the rewards. Thanh plans to continue her studies at university to further develop her career.
"I'm someone who likes novelty and dislikes conformity. The marketing field is where I can freely express my creativity and try out diverse work environments. The field of study isn't just about advertising; it's also about deeply understanding customer psychology and needs," Lan Thanh said.
Young female Party member wants to return to her hometown to start a business.
Pham Ngoc Anh Duong said it only took her a little over 1.5 years to complete her college program in business administration. Among the 778 graduates with practical degrees and engineering degrees this time, Anh Duong is a special case, graduating half a year early and earning a distinction degree.
"I've secured a job back home, and now I just need to submit my diploma before I can start working. Although I would have more job opportunities in Ho Chi Minh City, I think there's no better place than living near my parents," Anh Duong shared.

The new graduate said that he joined the Party while still in high school, and besides building a career and taking care of his family, Duong also wants to contribute more to the Thanh Hoa region.
Sharing her reasons for graduating early, Duong smiled brightly and said she wanted to "accelerate her studies" so she could start working sooner and earn money to help her family. "I don't feel too much pressure; I can still balance studying and working part-time. For me, the most important thing is the time spent listening to lectures in class. If I don't concentrate, I'll waste a lot of time reviewing and trying to understand the material again," Duong said.
According to Mr. Tran Van Tu, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics, the second graduation ceremony awarded degrees to 778 practical bachelors and practical engineers. In the first ceremony, 1207 students graduated. Thus, by 2025, the school will have 1,985 new bachelors and engineers, meeting the demand for a large, high-quality workforce for the development of the city and the country.
