Every year, the title "Outstanding Young Citizen of Ho Chi Minh City" is awarded by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union to honor exemplary young people who have achieved outstanding results and made positive contributions to the city's development.
This year, 12 candidates were nominated from various fields. In the group of outstanding researchers, the nominee is Dr. Mai Ngoc Xuan Dat, Institute of Advanced Materials Technology, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. In the group of outstanding students, the nominee is Vo Ngoc Minh Anh, Faculty of Information Technology, University of Science , Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.
The group of outstanding medical professionals includes Dr. Nròng K'Duy Py, Deputy Head of the Intensive Care Unit and Secretary of the Youth Union at Nhân Ái Hospital. In the group of outstanding young entrepreneurs, the candidate is MSc. Trần Tài, Director of Vietnam Biological Mushroom Company Limited.
As for the group of exemplary armed forces officers, there are two candidates: Captain Trinh Hai Thang, chemical expert at the Criminal Technical Department - Ho Chi Minh City Police; and Major Nguyen Van Truong, officer of the Team for Prevention and Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Illegal Drug Trafficking and Transportation - Ho Chi Minh City Police (Team 3 - PC04 Department).
Among the outstanding Youth Union, Youth Association, and Young Pioneers cadres, there are two candidates: Mr. Do Tien Dat, Secretary of the Youth Union branch and specialist at the An Dong Ward Cultural and Sports Service Center; and Ms. Doan Thi Thu Chung, member of the Secretariat of the Vietnam Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City, Permanent Deputy General Director of the Sao Bac Dau General Group, and Deputy Head of the Sao Bac Dau Bac Tao Dan Group.
The group of outstanding athletes includes two representatives: Athlete Nguyen Tan Sang, from the Ho Chi Minh City Sports Training and Competition Center, a member of the national Pencak Silat team; and Athlete Nguyen Tu Cuong, from the national Vovinam team, a teacher and coach at Binh Chanh Sports Gifted High School.
In the group of young people living beautifully, the candidate is Miss Intercontinental 2022 Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, Director and founder of Gen Zero Social Enterprise Co., Ltd. In the group of outstanding artists, the candidate is singer Nguyen Thi Duyen Quynh.
