Speaking to the press, striker Nguyen Dinh Bac said the team is in good spirits and is ready to aim for the goal of winning all 3 points in the opening match. He said: “The whole team is very excited and determined. It is difficult to predict anything, but we will try our best to have a good start.”
Recalling the 3-0 victory of U23 Vietnam over U23 Laos at the U23 Southeast Asia tournament in July, Dinh Bac said that this is not a measure for the upcoming match: “Each tournament is a different story. The teams in the region have all improved, so tomorrow's match will certainly not be easy. We must concentrate to get the desired result.”
The important goal that helped Hanoi Police Club win the right to continue in the recent AFC Champions League Two was also a great source of motivation for the striker born in 2004. Dinh Bac shared: "That goal came at the right time, helping me to be more confident before joining the national team."
Being assigned the role of vice-captain for the first time, Dinh Bac expressed his pride: “It is both a responsibility and a joy. I will try my best to contribute to the team's overall achievements.”
The young striker also said he appreciated the opportunity for the Hanoi Police Club to join the team earlier than expected. “I told coach Mano Polking that this was my first SEA Games and the fans were looking forward to it. I wanted to have more time to integrate with the team. Luckily, the coach understood and created the conditions,” he said.
The match between U22 Vietnam and U22 Laos will take place at 4pm tomorrow (December 3). With careful preparation and high determination, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team are aiming for a smooth start at the 33rd SEA Games.
