
During his visit to Vietnam, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah attended an official welcoming ceremony, held talks with President Luong Cuong, met with General Secretary To Lam, met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man .
At the meetings, talks and conferences, Vietnamese leaders welcomed the Sultan of Brunei's seventh visit to Vietnam, believing that this visit will promote the Vietnam-Brunei Comprehensive Partnership to develop more practically and effectively.
The Vietnamese leaders highly appreciated Brunei's great achievements in national construction and development, especially its good economic growth, guaranteed social security with a human development index ranked among the very high in the world; and wished Brunei success in implementing its National Development Vision to 2035.
Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah expressed his pleasure in returning to Vietnam since 2019 and wished to further promote the Comprehensive Partnership between Brunei and Vietnam. The Sultan sent his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and sent his regards to the people in the areas affected by floods and landslides.

The leaders of the two countries expressed satisfaction with the positive development of the Vietnam-Brunei Comprehensive Partnership in recent times; high-level and all-level contacts have been maintained regularly; bilateral trade turnover in 2024 increased by 165% compared to 2023, completing the target of 500 million USD in 2025 ahead of schedule; cooperation in the fields of defense-security, fisheries, oil and gas, education, etc. has many positive results.
Discussing the future cooperation orientation, the two countries' leaders agreed to strengthen political trust; promote and facilitate trade and investment activities, enhance connectivity, support businesses in exchanging information and finding partners; effectively exploit the cooperation potential between the two countries in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, Halal, culture, tourism, people-to-people exchange, etc.
On this occasion, the leaders of the two countries issued the Vietnam-Brunei Darussalam Joint Statement, affirming their commitment to further strengthen cooperation in all fields.
