Mr. Pham Tan Thanh, Head of Administration Department of SD Company Limited (My Tho City) said that in recent years, the Board of Directors and the Executive Board of the Company's grassroots Trade Union have actively responded to the "Green - clean - beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and health" movement launched by the superior Trade Union; at the same time, strictly complied with the legal regulations on occupational safety and health.

Every year, the state labor management agency coordinates with the Provincial Labor Federation and relevant agencies and units to organize the launching ceremony of the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health and the Workers' Month. Accordingly, each union official, leader of Party committees, authorities at all levels, agencies, units, enterprises, production establishments and the whole society join hands to care more for the lives of workers.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF ENTERPRISES AND EMPLOYEES

In recent times, although the work of ensuring occupational safety and health has received attention and achieved many important results, in 2024, the whole province had 208 occupational accidents, the number of people injured was 209. In general, occupational accidents have left serious and long-term consequences for workers, their families and society, greatly affecting the production and business development of enterprises.

There are many causes of occupational accidents, but one of the main causes is that: Some employers have not strictly complied with legal regulations on occupational safety and health, fire and explosion prevention and control; some occupational accidents are still subjective in the work of inspection, assessment, and identification of occupational safety and health risks; many employees have limited skills and lack knowledge, so they do not comply with occupational safety and health regulations, leading to many tragic occupational accidents.

In order to better implement occupational safety and health work, in the coming time, gradually improve working conditions, create a safe and effective working environment, improve the quality of workers' lives, and contribute to the socio -economic development of the province, at the launching ceremony of the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health and Workers' Month 2025, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Dieu, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health of the province requested that departments, branches, sectors, unions, enterprises and workers continue to strictly implement the Law on Occupational Safety and Health and the instructions of the Central and local governments.

Closely coordinate with Trade Unions at all levels in implementing Trade Union activities, organizing Workers' Month 2025 with the theme "Vietnamese Workers Take the Lead in Entering a New Era". Trade Unions at all levels strengthen coordination with the government and businesses to organize practical activities during Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health to create positive changes from awareness to action throughout society.

Enterprises should strengthen the assessment and identification of hazards and risks and proactively implement measures to ensure occupational safety and health at the workplace, promote activities to prevent occupational accidents and diseases, and pay attention to the health and working conditions of employees. Employees must strictly comply with regulations, procedures and measures to ensure occupational safety and health and prevent and fight fires and explosions.

Actively work in production, study to improve qualifications and skills, participate in Trade Union activities; comply with the agreements in the labor contract, collective labor agreement, use and preserve the personal protective equipment that has been issued, promptly report to the responsible person when detecting the risk of technical incidents causing loss of occupational safety and hygiene, occupational accidents or occupational diseases.

At the same time, it is recommended that trade unions at all levels closely coordinate with authorities at the same level, leaders of units, enterprises, and production establishments to organize practical activities, focusing on the grassroots. In particular, focusing on propaganda andeducation ; improving the effectiveness of patriotic emulation movements, good workers, creative workers, green - clean - beautiful units; ensuring occupational safety and health, supervising the implementation of policies and laws on labor; organizing activities to care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers, improving the quality and diversifying the activities of trade unions.
