Tien Yen: Training on preventing domestic violence, abuse of women and children

On May 6, the Provincial Women's Union coordinated with the Tien Yen District Women's Union to organize a training course to disseminate knowledge related to preventing and combating domestic violence; preventing and combating abuse of women and children for 75 delegates who are vice chairmen of the Commune Women's Union; heads of women's branches, and core women's union members in the district.

Representatives of the Provincial Women's Union informed the contents of the training session.

At the conference, representatives of the Provincial Women's Union disseminated information on the current situation of domestic violence and gender-based violence against women and children; the current situation, causes, and consequences for individuals, families, and society; signs of recognition and ways to prevent it. Introduced relevant legal documents: Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence (amended in 2022); Law on Children 2016; Law on Gender Equality...; regulations on the responsibilities of individuals, organizations, and state agencies. Introduced models, services, reliable addresses, and hotlines to support victims.

The training aims to equip women members with knowledge related to preventing and combating domestic violence; preventing and combating abuse of women and children; skills to identify, intervene and support victims, contributing to creating a non-violent, safe and equal environment for women and children.
