Received nearly 150 units of blood at Quan Lan and Minh Chau island communes

International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day , morning of May 8, at Quan Lan commune (Van Don district), the Van Don district Voluntary Blood Donation Movement Committee organized the Red Drop Blood Donation Festival at Van Don Commercial Port .

The blood donation festival attracted nearly 300 people including civil servants, public employees, armed forces, youth union members, volunteers and people in the two communes of Quan Lan and Minh Chau. As a result, the organizing committee collected 141 units of blood, equal to 117.5% of the plan. This amount of blood is used to treat patients at medical facilities in the province.

In 2025, the Van Don District Blood Donation Campaign Steering Committee will organize 4 blood donation campaigns, attracting about 1,100 people to register and receive 800 blood units. Up to now, the District Blood Donation Steering Committee has organized 2 campaigns, receiving 427 blood units, reaching 53.4% ​​of the annual plan target. The remaining 2 campaigns will be held in September and October 2025.

On the occasion of Humanitarian Month (May), the Red Cross Society of Van Don district presented gifts to disabled children and people in difficult circumstances in two communes, Quan Lan and Minh Chau (each gift worth from 300,000 - 500,000 VND).
