Miss Ý Nhi's international performance causes controversy

During the announcement of the project and plan for the Miss World competition, the beauty presented Video conveys love for homeland, introduces Vietnamese culture and history.

Y Nhi also revealed a charity project called "Heart To Head - Journey of hearts and minds".

Miss Ý Nhi’s project records her journey through 12 provinces and cities, donating a total of 20 bookcases. Each bookcase has about 300 books, including comics, fairy tales, life lessons, history books as well as books on life skills. In addition, Ý Nhi’s team also repaired and renovated a number of dilapidated schools.

To prepare for the Dance of the World competition of Miss World, Y Nhi prepared a brocade costume and practiced a dance called "Dance of the Great Forest".

Through that, she wants to convey the image of a free and confident woman, with a liberal and unrestrained spirit.

However, the performance of the beauty born in 2002 received mixed reactions from the audience. In videos shared on social networks, Y Nhi performed powerful choreography with acrobatic moves.

Many people said that the beauty queen's dance lacked determination and her body was not free, making her movements stiff and her tumbling unimpressive. The overall performance was judged by many viewers to be unattractive, even compared to a school performance.

According to the choreographer, the performance expressed the excitement and joy of the people before the bumper crop. The dance was inspired by the beauty of nature and people in the highlands.

Ý Nhi's final night outfits were two evening gowns, Aurora of the sea and Garden of Eden, by designer Hoàng Tony.

Huynh Tran Y Nhi was born in 2002 in Binh Dinh, 1.75m tall. Before being crowned Miss World Vietnam 2023, Y Nhi won the runner-up prize in the 2022 Binh Dinh Student Charm contest.

At the end of 2023, Y Nhi announced that she would study abroad in Australia. During her time in Australia, the beauty improved her foreign language skills, actively participated in studying, interacted with audiences on social networks, and participated in a number of charity projects.

She often travels between Vietnam and Australia to study and participate in many activities and charity projects.

Currently, Y Nhi said she is postponing her studies abroad to focus on competing at Miss World.

The final night of the 72nd Miss World contest is scheduled to take place on May 31 in India.
