With only a few days left until the April 30 and May 1 holidays, air tickets to key tourist destinations are in short supply. In this situation, many passengers have no choice but to travel by cheaper means of transport such as cars, trains, etc.

Director of Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company Pham Manh Hung said: “In order to meet the increasing demand of passengers, based on forecasts, the Company will increase the number of buses to the stations by 625. The stations will coordinate with the authorities to strengthen inspection and supervision, and prevent overloaded buses and ticket prices from rising above the regulated prices...”.

A survey by Hanoi Moi reporters on the ticket sales systems of Vietnam Airlines , Vietjet Air, and Bamboo Airways on April 23 showed that most flights from April 25 to May 3 had high ticket prices, and many flights were in short supply or sold out.

Dr. Dao Ngoc Nghiem, architect, Vice President of the Vietnam Urban Planning and Development Association, said: “In my opinion, in the long term, it is necessary to limit cars from stopping and parking in all the old streets of Hoan Kiem district, or ban cars from entering these historic inner-city streets. Many countries in the world have done this to reduce traffic congestion, promote tourism development, and at the same time contribute to protecting the relics in the old streets.”
