News, forecast of coffee price tomorrow April 6, 2025 continues to decrease slightly
Currently, the world coffee price is facing some “turbulence” because the US - a country that buys a lot of coffee - has just proposed to impose higher import taxes on major producing countries such as Brazil or Colombia. This is like when you go to the market, the seller increases the price because they have to pay more fees, making the goods more expensive. For Vietnam, the world leader in Robusta coffee (a strong coffee, often used to make instant coffee), a tax of up to 46% can make our coffee harder to sell. When goods are difficult to get to the market, the supply is reduced, the price can be greatly affected.
Looking at the world, coffee prices are under downward pressure, meaning they tend to be a little cheaper than before. The reason is that after a period of strong growth, many people sell quickly to keep their profits, just like when you see high vegetable prices and rush to sell before they go down. In addition, if Brazil - the leading coffee producer - has good weather, the coffee trees produce more fruit, the supply increases, and the price will have a hard time staying high.
But don’t worry too much, domestic coffee prices are still quite stable. However, it is like a small boat being tossed around by the waves of the big sea. If the world “coughs”, Vietnam is likely to “catch a cold”. Experts say that coffee prices on April 6, 2025 may fluctuate, like when you play on a swing, sometimes high, sometimes low. The weather in Vietnam, such as unpredictable rain and sunshine, combined with buyers and sellers’ guessing, also contributes to price changes.
The good news is that Vietnam still has a chance to make a lot of money from coffee. In the first quarter of 2025, we earned nearly 2.8 billion USD from exports. If the world coffee price stays at 5,500 - 6,000 USD/ton, the whole year could reach 8 billion USD - a huge number, like winning the lottery! However, if the US keeps the high tax rate and buyers are less enthusiastic, prices may drop slightly in the next few days, especially around April 6, 2025.
