Ba Ria - Vung Tau province supports 2 billion VND for poor families in Quang Tri

This afternoon, June 8, Party Central Committee member, Provincial Party Secretary Pham Viet Thanh; Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province Vo Ngoc Thanh Truc and the delegation of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province visited, worked and presented funds to support poor, near-poor and extremely disadvantaged households in Quang Tri province. Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province Vo Ngoc Thanh Truc said that, realizing the importance of poverty reduction as the root of social stability, over the past time, along with socio-economic development, the locality has always consistently advocated taking people as the center of development, considering improving the quality of life and happiness of the people as an important goal and orientation in all policies and development guidelines of the province. In addition, it always accompanies other provinces to join hands in eliminating hunger and reducing poverty.

Sharing the difficulties of the "fire land" Quang Tri which has suffered many losses and injuries during the fierce bombardment period, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has supported 2 billion VND for Quang Tri to help poor, near-poor and extremely disadvantaged households in the area. With this funding source, it is hoped that together with the Party Committee and the government of Quang Tri province, we will effectively carry out poverty reduction work, helping poor households gradually stabilize their lives, rise up and escape poverty sustainably; contributing to building the homeland of Quang Tri increasingly rich and beautiful.

Thanking the locality for sharing and supporting, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Tri province Dao Manh Hung informed that over the years, the work of ensuring social security and caring for the poor has always been carried out by the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front and all classes of people in the province. The work of caring for policy beneficiaries, especially those with meritorious services and revolutionary families, has been actively implemented.

In particular, responding to the emulation movement of the whole country joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses by 2025 launched by the Prime Minister , the province has directed departments, branches and localities to actively participate in the implementation.

Of which, thousands of houses have been newly built and repaired for people with revolutionary contributions, martyrs’ relatives, poor and near-poor households and families in especially difficult circumstances in the province. Quang Tri is expected to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province in June 2025.

On this occasion, the delegation of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province solemnly held a ceremony to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs at Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery, Quang Tri Ancient Citadel and visited the Hien Luong - Ben Hai historical site.
