According to a VNA reporter in the Czech Republic, the contest, co-organized by the Union of Vietnamese Associations and the Union of Vietnamese Women's Associations in Europe, is a meaningful playground to honor the sacred values of the traditional Tet holiday, while spreading love for the homeland and national cultural identity among the overseas Vietnamese community. Being organized for the first time in Europe, the event has left a deep impression and connected the Vietnamese community in all countries.

After nearly 3 months of launching (from December 15, 2024 to February 28, 2025), the contest received 251 works from the Vietnamese community in 15 countries across Europe. These numbers are clear evidence of the strong influence of Vietnamese Tet, not only in memory, but also in the journey of preserving the roots of many generations.

Notably, the oldest author is Mr. Nguyen Xuan Nhung, 83 years old (Poland); the youngest is Danny Nguyen, 5 years old (UK). Notably, there are 8 foreign authors, of which 4 excellent winners, affirming the influence of Vietnamese culture not only in the Vietnamese community but also spreading to international friends.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang, President of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe, emotionally shared: “Tet, just one word, but contains a whole world of memories. It is an invisible thread connecting every Vietnamese person living abroad with their homeland, a sacred memory that cannot be erased.”

He also affirmed that the diversity and emotions in the 251 works expressed the creative spirit, love for the homeland and above all the strength of the Vietnamese community in Europe, always looking back to their roots in a common love called the Fatherland.

Attending the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Mr. Duong Hoai Nam, expressed his emotion at the warm and affectionate atmosphere of the Vietnamese community abroad. He said: “I am truly impressed by the richness and diversity of the works, from age, nationality to genre. Each article, each poem, each film is like a sincere beat from the hearts of children far away from home, always looking towards the homeland”. The Ambassador emphasized that preserving and promoting national culture in the Vietnamese community abroad, especially with the younger generation, is a long-term task, helping to connect generations and maintain national identity in the integrated world .

In her congratulatory letter to the program, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Thi Thu Hang wrote: “This is a beautiful journey written with memories, emotions and hearts. The large participation of our compatriots shows that the flame of homeland still burns brightly in the hearts of overseas Vietnamese, especially the young generation."

It is not only a success in quantity, but also a strong testament to the deep love that the overseas Vietnamese community has for Tet culture - an inseparable part of the nation's soul. She also shared: “We do not consider this just an art contest, but a journey of connecting souls, where the generation of Vietnamese people born and raised abroad can find themselves in traditional values and better understand their ancestors' roots."

In a solemn and cozy atmosphere, the award ceremony not only honored outstanding works but also provided an opportunity for the Vietnamese community in Europe to relive the memories of Tet in their homeland, where there were green Chung cakes, red parallel sentences, the scent of incense and above all, family affection, love and reunion.

It can be said that “Vietnamese Tet in my heart” is not only a contest, but also a passionate call from the motherland to the hearts of those far from home. No matter where they are in the world, Vietnamese people still keep for themselves a very Vietnamese Spring, warm, profound and full of pride.
