Quang Tri province attended the Trade, Investment and Tourism Promotion Forum in Sekong province (Laos)

Implementing the investment promotion program in 2025 and assigned by the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, from May 23-25, the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Quang Tri province organized a working delegation to attend the Trade, Investment and Tourism Promotion Forum in Sekong province, jointly organized by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse and the Sekong Provincial Government. This is an activity to promote investment, tourism, economic and trade cooperation between localities of the three countries of Vietnam, Laos and Thailand, annually organized by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse, and this year it was held in Sekong province.

Attending the forum were leaders of 4 Lao localities (Champasak, Salavan, Sekong, Attapeu), 1 Thai locality (Ubon Ratchathani) and 18 Vietnamese provinces/cities that have cooperative relations with the Southern Lao provinces, including 6 provinces and cities participating directly (Da Nang; Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Binh Phuoc) and 12 provinces and cities participating online ( Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho; Gia Lai, Dong Thap, Lam Dong, Binh Phuoc, Quang Binh, Binh Dinh, Quang Ngai, Binh Duong, Dong Nai); representatives of the Vietnam Business Association in Japan and Southern Laos; representatives of enterprises from the three countries of Vietnam - Laos - Thailand.

The forum is an opportunity for localities and businesses of the three countries to connect and survey investment opportunities in the southern provinces of Laos, focusing on Sekong province; build cooperation programs suitable to the needs and strengths of each locality, contributing to the socio-economic development of localities on the East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC).

The forum listened to speeches and discussions from representatives of localities of the three countries and discussions from businesses investing in Sekong province. The opinions conveyed information and promoted the potential and strengths of cooperation to promote the fields of trade, investment and tourism , contributing to helping the parties research and develop plans to implement cooperation contents suitable to the needs and strengths of each locality.

Within the framework of the event, on May 23, the 2025 Trade and Tourism Fair was officially opened with the participation of 47 booths, including 12 Vietnamese booths, 34 Lao booths and 1 Thai booth.

Quang Tri province's booth with many typical products, OCOP products of Quang Tri province has received attention and cooperation from many businesses and investors from Laos and Thailand.

Participating in this forum and fair is an opportunity for Quang Tri to strengthen the special friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general, and to tighten and promote the cooperation between Quang Tri province and Sekong province in particular in the new period.
