The National Professional Stage Arts Festival on “The Image of the Police Officer” is organized by the Ministry of Public Security in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Stage Artists Association. Through the plays, the Festival aims to vividly portray and honor the image of the Police officer on stage; praise the revolutionary nature and glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Public Security.
This is also an opportunity for art units and artists inside and outside the People's Public Security Forces to exchange experiences, discover and explore new creations in artistic work on the topic of security, order and the image of the People's Public Security Forces. After 4 successful times, the Festival has contributed to vividly portraying and honoring the image of the People's Public Security Forces in both wartime and peacetime.
The 5th National Professional Stage Arts Festival on “The Image of the Police Soldier” is one of the meaningful cultural and artistic activities, aiming to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025). The festival is for public and non-public professional art units nationwide. Each theater participates in no more than 2 plays; the Art Troupe participates in 1 play. The works participating in the festival are in 4 categories: Drama, opera, reformed opera, and cheo.
Regarding the Festival, the Department of Political Affairs, Ministry of Public Security said that the opening and closing ceremonies and awarding ceremony will be held at Ho Guom Theater. The units will perform at the Army Theater, No. 130 Ho Tung Mau Street, Mai Dich Ward, Cau Giay District. Participating in the Festival are 22 public and non-public art units nationwide, including Vietnam Drama Theater, Youth Theater, CAND Drama Theater, Hong Van Drama Theater, Army Drama Theater, Army Cheo Theater, Hanoi Drama Theater, Hanoi University of Theater and Cinema, Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema, etc.
Many art units from provinces and cities also gathered in the capital on this occasion to participate in the Festival such as Hung Yen Cheo Theater, Binh Dinh Traditional Art Theater, Hue Opera and Drama Theater, Nghe An Traditional Art Center, Quang Ninh Provincial Art Troupe, Quang Nam Opera and Drama Troupe, Lam Son Art Theater... Notably, there are some units participating in up to 2 plays such as CAND Drama Theater, Army Drama Theater, Army Cheo Theater.
The works submitted to the Festival talk about the contributions of the People's Public Security Forces in the struggle for national liberation during the periods of resistance against the French and the Americans, building and defending the Fatherland during the period of national renewal; the attention of the Party, the State, and Uncle Ho to the People's Public Security Forces; and the People's Public Security Forces following Uncle Ho's Six Teachings. Many plays praise the sacrifices and exemplary examples of the People's Public Security Forces in the frontline of fighting against crime, protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety; and fighting against degradation in political ideology, moral qualities, lifestyle, "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the organization.
The Organizing Committee also said that the works participating in the 5th National Professional Stage Arts Festival on “The Image of the Police Soldier” were newly staged by the troupes, and had not participated in any previous competitions or festivals. The Organizing Committee encouraged and awarded points to the art units that staged new plays based on the scripts of the Stage Script Writing Camps organized by the Ministry of Public Security. The stage works after participating in the Festival continued to be performed to serve the large number of officers, soldiers and people nationwide.
