Plan International Vietnam supports the province with 491 solar lights

Leaders of the Plan Project area in Ha Giang handed over the solar lighting system to Can Chu Phin commune (Meo Vac).

Accordingly, the communes receiving support include: Can Chu Phin, Giang Chu Phin, Lung Chinh, Lung Pu (Meo Vac) and Huu Vinh, Lao Va Chai, Sung Thai, Mau Long (Yen Minh) with a total of 491 solar light bulbs. Of which, Meo Vac district received 232 bulbs, Yen Minh 259 bulbs, with a total installation length of 14.7 km. The selected locations were on the roads from the commune People's Committee headquarters to household groups, primary and secondary schools, roads to schools, medical stations... with a total support cost of over 1.1 billion VND.

Mr. Vu Thanh Hien, Deputy Regional Manager of Plan Project in Ha Giang shared: This is one of the key activities of the project for ethnic minority children, adolescents and young people aged 6-24 living in Meo Vac and Yen Minh districts to develop the necessary skills to protect themselves in the climate crisis, enhance the community's capacity in prevention and self-recovery. The program aims to support people in remote areas, girls to conveniently travel at night and prevent and avoid related risks. Thereby, contributing to the Party Committee and government to ensure security and order in the locality and build an environmentally friendly, energy-saving model, responding to climate change.
