Working group 950 works at Tinh Bien International Border Gate

Colonel Nguyen Duc Dung (Deputy Director of the Legal Department of the Ministry of National Defense ) chaired the meeting. Steering Committee 398 of An Giang province; leaders of departments, branches, and Tinh Bien town also attended.

Tinh Bien Town has a border with Cambodia of about 20.5km, with 1 international border gate, many goods gathering points and many small-scale border crossings. This is a favorable condition for border residents to exchange, buy and sell, export, import, transport goods... to serve economic development, increase state budget revenue, and contribute to improving people's lives. However, smugglers, illegal transporters of goods across the border, and smuggled goods traders take advantage of the above characteristics to increase their activities. The functional sector inspected, discovered and arrested 101 cases, involving 116 violators; recorded the temporary detention of 2,578 toys and interior decoration products of all kinds, without invoices or documents proving their origin; temporarily detained about 1,000 boxes of oil, 12 bottles of pesticides, with a total value of 108.5 million VND.

The working session focused on assessing the situation of anti-smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in Tinh Bien Town in general and Tinh Bien International Border Gate in particular, from the peak of the Lunar New Year 2025 to present. Thereby, focusing on clarifying the existing problems, limitations, causes; difficulties, obstacles, recommendations, proposals for amendments and supplements to legal documents and management mechanisms related to this work; forecasting the situation and proposing directions and solutions in the coming time.
