This is a meaningful event for generations of teachers and students of the school, an important milestone affirming the 60-year journey of building, fighting, growing and comprehensive development, contributing to beautifying the glorious tradition of the People's Public Security force.
Looking back on the 60-year journey of construction and development, the People's Police College I has continuously grown, affirming its position as one of the leading cradles of training people's police officers in the country. The past six decades have been a journey of perseverance, innovation and dedication, closely associated with each step of growth of the heroic Vietnam People's Police force.
During the arduous period of the resistance war against the US to save the country, just 10 years after its establishment, from this school, thousands of cadres and students went to the South to fight. They brought with them the faith, will and bravery of the People's Public Security soldiers, becoming loyal soldiers on the front line, bravely achieving many outstanding feats, contributing to the historic victory of the Spring of 1975, completely liberating the South and unifying the country.
Entering the renovation period after 1986, the school promptly adapted and proactively comprehensively innovated education and training work, gradually perfected the curriculum and teaching content, and at the same time focused on improving pedagogical methods, thoroughly grasping the motto "learning goes hand in hand with practice, theory is linked with practice, taking learners as the center".
Thanks to that, generations of graduates are always steadfast in political will, good at expertise, proficient in working skills, and able to meet the requirements of tasks in all situations. They have been and are the core members of the police in units and localities, contributing to protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety, for the peaceful and happy life of the people.
On October 22, 2020, General Secretary To Lam (at that time holding the position of Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security) and leaders of functional units of the Ministry of Public Security visited and worked with the People's Police College I to inspect the current situation, difficulties and obstacles after the merger and the development orientation of the school in the new period.
At the meeting, General Secretary To Lam directed: "The People's Police College I needs to be invested in expanding its area and strive to build the School into a typical vocational training facility in the People's Police, aiming to become a school that meets the Ministry's standards. In addition to the task of educating and training intermediate-level police officers for the force, the School strives to become one of the training centers, training in regulations, military martial arts, and sports of the police sector".
His profound guidance is an important milestone in the school's development process, opening a period of comprehensive innovation, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of education and training.
In particular, after 5 years of merger (from April 2020 to present), the school has made strong progress in all aspects of work. Political and ideological work has been stable, staff organization and training work have been innovated, especially facilities, infrastructure, working conditions have been comprehensively invested, gradually equipped with modern means and support tools to effectively serve teaching and living work, in which equipment and information technology application products have been upgraded to meet the requirements of the school's political tasks in the new situation.
In the field of cooperation and training association, the school has opened training classes for the work-study system and commune police with tens of thousands of students; maintained international cooperation relations with the Security College I - Ministry of Security of Laos, the Royal Police Academy of Cambodia, organized for leaders and lecturers to participate in studying, visiting, and exchanging experiences in education and training with a number of countries in the world according to the program of the Ministry of Public Security.
In addition to professional duties, the school is also a leading force in the front line of natural disaster and epidemic prevention. The school's staff and students are not afraid of hardships and promptly coordinate with local authorities in helping people in difficulty, spreading the beautiful image of police officers who are trusted and admired by the people.
After 60 years of construction and development, the People's Police College I has continuously grown, affirming its position as one of the key training institutions of the People's Police force. The school has organized 9 regular college courses, 60 intermediate courses, with nearly 200,000 officers and soldiers trained and matured.
From here, generations of students have strived and achieved many outstanding feats, some of whom were promoted to the rank of general, holding high positions in the People's Public Security Force, in the Party, the State and central agencies. Many comrades have become Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, representing the spirit of "Forgetting oneself for the country, serving the people".
There were comrades who heroically sacrificed their lives while on duty, leaving behind shining examples of bravery and dedication to the cause of protecting the security and order of the Fatherland such as martyrs: Pham Van Cuong, Le Thanh A, Nguyen Canh Dan... Up to now, the school has three comrades who have been awarded the title of People's Teacher; 22 comrades have been awarded the title of Excellent Teacher.
With its great contributions over the past 60 years, the School has been honored to receive many noble and outstanding awards from the Party, the State and the Ministry of Public Security, such as: Ho Chi Minh Medal, Military Exploit Medal, War Exploit Medal, Fatherland Protection Medal, along with many Emulation Flags of the Government, Excellent Emulation Flags of the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs and many certificates of merit from sectors, levels and localities where the school is stationed.
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Traditional Day, the People's Police College I was honored to receive the Second Class Military Exploit Medal from the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam - a noble award, demonstrating the recognition and trust of the Party, State, and Ministry of Public Security for the great achievements of the School, and at the same time being a source of great encouragement and motivation for teachers and students to continue to strive and write more glorious traditional pages.
Major General, Associate Professor, Doctor Le Hoai Nam, Party Secretary and Principal of the School proudly shared: "After 60 years of construction and development, People's Police College I has affirmed its position as an important training center of the People's Police force.
Entering the new era, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the School always closely follow the policy of innovation and development of education and training of the Party, the State and the direction of the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, considering this a decisive factor in successfully completing the assigned political tasks. Promoting the glorious tradition, the School will continue to innovate and develop comprehensively, contributing to training a team of police officers who are both red and professional, meeting the requirements of the tasks in the new situation."
Entering the new era, the school continues to carry out the glorious mission entrusted by the Party, the State and the Ministry of Public Security, with the goal of training intermediate-level cadres, meeting the human resources needs of the grassroots police force, and arranging jobs after graduation in the grassroots areas (communes and wards) to ensure the appropriate and synchronous model of the two-level local government organization. This is the unique feature that creates the honor and also the noble responsibility of the School.
Along with that, the school constantly innovates comprehensively the content, curriculum, and teaching methods in the direction of modernization, standardization, and international integration; gradually building a humane, disciplined, and disciplined educational environment. Pioneering in mastering modern teaching technology, the school's teachers proactively apply 3D projection technology, illustrative videos, and professional simulations in each lecture, helping students easily access, deeply understand, and effectively apply practical knowledge. These efforts create initiative and creativity among students, creating a new mark in the training and coaching of the People's Public Security in the digital transformation period.
Towards the 60th Anniversary of the Traditional Day, the school has organized many exciting activities with profound political and social significance, expressing the gratitude and pride of generations of teachers and students. Typical events include the inauguration of the Stele marking the first location where the school was stationed; the groundbreaking of the Stone Stele at the People's Police College I-T09 in Xuan Mai commune, Hanoi city.
The two works have profound historical and educational values, and are red addresses for generations of teachers and students to learn, research, review traditions, organize political education activities, and return to the source, contributing to nurturing pride and arousing the spirit of dedication of each cadre and student to the school and the People's Public Security force.
