Attending the Seminar were comrades: Pham Van Thep, Standing Committee member, Head of Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee. Comrades leading the Central Press agencies, Press agencies of provinces and cities; leaders of Departments, branches, localities and a number of IT Enterprises.
In his opening speech at the seminar, Mr. Pham Van Tuan, Director of the City Press and Communications Center, emphasized that in the digital age, technology is fundamentally changing all areas of life - and the press is no exception. Digital transformation is no longer a choice, but an inevitable requirement for the press to survive, adapt and continue to maintain its role in guiding and leading public opinion. However, this journey is not without challenges: fierce competition from social networks, the risk of fake news, economic pressure from the traditional model, and the digital gap between reader groups. But this is also an opportunity for the press to make a breakthrough - thanks to the application of artificial intelligence, big data, multi-platform digital content and strong interactive connections with the public, especially the younger generation. Digital transformation is not just a matter of technology, but a comprehensive innovation in thinking, organization and journalism. It is important that we do not lose sight of our core values: professional ethics, accuracy, social responsibility and humanity.
The Seminar program hopes to listen to practical experiences, thereby jointly removing barriers in technology, finance, and human resources, to propose practical solutions to help Hai Phong journalism develop sustainably in the digital age.
Speaking at the seminar, comrade Pham Van Thep - Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department acknowledged and assessed that, implementing the digital transformation policy of the Central and the city, Hai Phong Press has recently made positive changes, gradually adapting and affirming its role in the digital media environment. Press agencies such as Hai Phong Newspaper, Hai Phong Radio and Television Station (now merged into the City Press and Communications Center), City Electronic Information Portal, Hai Phong Security Special Topic (CAND Newspaper), Cua Bien Magazine... have modernized their working processes, moving towards a converged newsroom model. Many units have strongly applied CMS tools, film editing software, event livestreaming, podcast production, infographics, short videos and increased their presence on digital platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Zalo, app. Hai Phong press has gradually shifted from one-way communication to interactive communication, effectively promoting its role as an official channel in propagating the city's digital transformation policies, from smart urban development, online public services to digital economy and digital society.
The Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department stated that in order for the press to truly become a pioneer in digital transformation and sustainable development, it is necessary to synchronously deploy 5 groups of solutions: building a modern, multi-platform digital media center; developing data journalism to serve digital citizens; training a team of digital-age journalists; innovating the press financial model, promoting the socialization of digital content; and accompanying the city in the sustainable development strategy.
At the Seminar, speakers from press, technology and media agencies shared many practical perspectives and valuable experiences on the digital transformation process in the field of journalism and television. The presentations focused on key contents such as: digital transformation in the field of television; application of AI and big data in content production; building a digital platform for radio and television journalism; training a team of digital journalists; application of technology in editing and publishing; and challenges and solutions for digital transformation at local press agencies./.
