To celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese publishing, printing and book distribution industry (October 10, 1952 - October 10, 2025), the National Library of Vietnam, in coordination with the Vietnam Publishing Association and the Publishing Directors Club, organized an introduction and discussion session on newly published works by Professor, Doctor (GS.TS) Dinh Xuan Dung and his colleagues.

The newly introduced works include 12 books, including the work “Contemporary Vietnamese Culture - Opportunities and Challenges” by Prof. Dr. Dinh Xuan Dung (National Political Publishing House Truth) and two book series co-edited and compiled by Prof. Dr. Dinh Xuan Dung with Prof. Dr. Nguyen Nhu Y and colleagues. These are the six-book series “Ho Chi Minh's Philosophy - Priceless Spiritual Assets of Our Party and People” (Information and Communication Publishing House) with the participation of Dr. Nguyen Chi Dat, Dr. Vu Thuy Duong and the five-book series “Ho Chi Minh Bookcase - Vietnamese Women Follow Uncle Ho's Words” (Vietnamese Women Publishing House).

In the context of a developing country with outstanding achievements in politics, economics , society, security and defense, achievements in the cultural field have not really developed commensurate with their potential and have revealed certain "lags", the work "Contemporary Vietnamese Culture - Opportunities and Challenges" by Professor, Dr. Dinh Xuan Dung is a collection of surveys, research, and experience drawn from practice and theory over the past many years of a scientist who has worked and researched in the field of culture for many years, mentioning the opportunities, prospects and directions to turn challenges into driving forces for the sustainable development of the country in the new era, making culture truly become the spiritual foundation of society, the goal and driving force to promote the development of the country.

The book covers five main contents. The first part, “Some theoretical issues on the development of contemporary Vietnamese culture,” is a collection of articles on the theory of Vietnamese cultural development from the process of movement, especially in the period of innovation and integration, expressing the general category of contemporary culture of the nation and specific aspects of the country’s culture today, bearing the mark of progress and rich identity. The second part, “On cultural values,” has seven essays that are research works that contribute to locating and analyzing in both breadth and depth the systems of contemporary Vietnamese cultural values. The third part, “Initial assessments of Vietnamese cultural practices since the 13th National Party Congress,” provides profound analysis, feelings, suggestions, and assessments of modern Vietnamese cultural practices from many perspectives. The fourth part “Promoting the cultural potential of regions” and the fifth part “Promoting the cultural strength in building armed forces in the new period” of the book mention and clarify the role and importance in promoting the potentials that need to be further opened and developed in local culture as well as the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers, a dialectical blend of Vietnamese culture with important contributions to the cause of innovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland.

The 6-volume book series “Ho Chi Minh’s Philosophy - the invaluable spiritual asset of our Party and people” includes the following volumes: “Ho Chi Minh’s Philosophy on the Party and State”, “Ho Chi Minh’s Philosophy on Great Unity”, “Ho Chi Minh’s Philosophy on Culture, Education , Science and Technology”, “Ho Chi Minh’s Philosophy on Armed Forces”, “Ho Chi Minh’s Philosophy on Foreign Affairs”, “Ho Chi Minh’s Philosophy on Personnel Work”, compiled from the careful selection and condensation of tens of thousands of pages in “Ho Chi Minh Complete Works”. These are sentences, paragraphs, and words that are concise, easy to understand, and are arranged into a system with six thematic clusters so that readers can grasp and apply Ho Chi Minh’s Thought in research as well as practical activities in various fields. In each topic, each content section, the Editorial Board has arranged the sentences in dictionary form (first letter order according to A, B, C...) to help readers read directly, reflect and study according to their needs. Each quote in this book series has a full source citation so that when readers need to understand the whole text, they can easily find the origin.

After nearly 60 years of activities and leading the revolution both internationally and domestically of President Ho Chi Minh, his ideology was formed, gradually supplemented, developed and perfected, becoming a system of comprehensive and profound viewpoints on the fundamental issues of the Vietnamese revolution, summarized in the extremely rich and diverse works, articles and speeches printed in the Ho Chi Minh Complete Works (15 volumes). That ideology is always linked by three factors of "application", "development" and "creation" of Marxism - Leninism in the specific conditions of our country and "Enlivening that doctrine" by the extremely simple, condensed, concise and brief expression like a motto, a famous saying with scientific value and profound humanistic meaning. That is the characteristic of Ho Chi Minh's ideology - Ho Chi Minh's philosophy. The book series “Ho Chi Minh's philosophy - priceless spiritual assets of our Party and people” clearly demonstrates his core and most profound thoughts on culture, education, science, technology and important issues of the revolution and of Vietnam, not only having historical value but also being an important ideological foundation for implementing the policy of innovation and digital transformation in key areas, maximizing human resources, building an advanced culture imbued with national identity, improving people's knowledge and scientific and technological level. Researching and creatively applying the viewpoints of President Ho Chi Minh's thought is the key to continuing to promote the intellectual and spiritual strength of the entire people, creating motivation for the Vietnamese people to overcome all challenges and rise up in the new era.

The book series “Ho Chi Minh Bookcase - Vietnamese Women Follow Uncle Ho's Words” selects and collects quotes, speeches, and articles of President Ho Chi Minh in a popular way, widely meeting the need to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style of women across the country. The book series has contributed to systematizing important arguments in Ho Chi Minh's Thought on national liberation, class liberation, and human liberation, in which the whole thought and sentiment of the man is to liberate women as he repeatedly affirmed: If we do not liberate women, we will not liberate half of humanity. If we do not liberate women, we will only build half of socialism. It is from that extremely profound and humane thought, along with a special affection for women, that throughout his life of revolutionary activities and leadership, President Ho Chi Minh wrote and spoke a lot, extremely deeply, very easily understood and mentioned almost all issues about women, women's liberation, gender equality and other issues related to women such as family, family education, children, education, self-study...

The collection of quotes and speeches from five books in “Ho Chi Minh Bookcase - Vietnamese Women Following Uncle Ho's Teachings” both generally and specifically mentions Ho Chi Minh's Thought on the issues of liberation, care and promotion of the role of women in daily life, in society and family. In addition, the book series also introduces typical examples of Vietnamese women through many historical periods of the country, especially in the years of renovation... The book series shows a writing style and expression that is close, easy to understand, touching people's hearts, expressing the feelings of President Ho Chi Minh as well as the feelings of generations of Vietnamese women for the leader as a father, an uncle, a loved one with deep respect and the will to live and study according to his thoughts.
