(NLĐO) - Domestic gold prices continued their upward trend at the end of the day, with SJC gold bars reaching their highest level in the past three months.

On the evening of February 3rd, the price of SJC gold bars was simultaneously pushed to its highest level of the year by SJC, PNJ, and DOJI companies, with buying prices at 87.8 million VND/ounce and selling prices at 89.8 million VND/ounce, a total increase of 1 million VND per ounce compared to yesterday.

Bao Tin Minh Chau company is trading SJC gold bars at a lower price, buying at 87.8 million VND/ounce and selling at 89.75 million VND/ounce.

ACB and Sacombank banks are selling SJC gold bars at 88.8 million VND/ounce, while Eximbank is selling them at 89.3 million VND/ounce.

Domestic gold prices continue to rise sharply.

This represents a sharp increase in gold prices in recent days. The buy-sell price spread remains high at 2 million VND per tael. Gold prices are currently at their highest level in the past three months.

Similarly, the prices of gold rings and 99.99% pure gold jewelry also surged. Businesses like SJC and PNJ listed buying prices at 87.5 million VND/ounce; DOJI, in particular, bought at 88.1 million VND/ounce. On the selling side, the highest price for gold rings reached 89.2 to 89.5 million VND/ounce, a total increase of 700,000 VND per ounce compared to yesterday.

Domestic gold prices have not stopped their sharp increase immediately after the Lunar New Year holiday, amidst a continued rise in global gold prices. While global gold prices fell sharply to $2,780 per ounce in the morning session, they have now surpassed $2,800 per ounce (Vietnam time).

Gold prices reached an all-time high in the past few days, around $2,820 per ounce, as investors sought gold as a safe haven. The US tariff policies applied to countries like Canada and Mexico have fueled investor concerns about increased global economic risks.

Not only gold, but the US dollar also strengthened in the international market. The US dollar index, which measures the strength of the greenback, surpassed 109.2 points, rising by 0.93% compared to the previous session.

Currently, the world gold price, converted according to the listed exchange rate, is approximately 86 million VND per tael.
