In response to voters' petitions, the Ministry of Finance stated that every year, on important national holidays and festivals, the President issues policies to give gifts to those who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution, such as Lunar New Year and the War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27th.

In 2025, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the Reunification of the Country, and the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the President issued a decision to award gifts to people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution, at a rate of 500,000 VND per person.

The Ministry of Finance stated that it has received feedback from voters and will coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to provide advice and report to competent authorities when budget resources are secured.

According to this agency, the issuance of policies in general and the giving of gifts to the people in particular are carried out on the basis of the Party's guidelines, the Government's directives, and the annual state budget's balancing capacity.

Previously, the Ministry of Interior had sent a document to the Prime Minister proposing a plan for the Lunar New Year and National Day holidays in 2026. Thus, the Lunar New Year holiday will last for 9 consecutive days, including 5 days of holiday as stipulated by the Labor Code and 4 weekend days.
