Recently in Hanoi , the World Mobile Broadband, Cloud & AI Summit 2025 forum took place with the theme "Developing 5G services: Supporting the deployment of public services and strengthening network infrastructure".

According to experts, the 5G network not only improves the speed and reliability of connections, but also serves as a foundation for developing smart public services, improving administrative efficiency in both the public and private sectors. In particular, the combination of 5G - AI (artificial intelligence) - Cloud (cloud computing) opens up the possibility of automating operational processes, analyzing real-time data, contributing to building more effective smart urban models, digital governments and digital businesses.

According to Dr. Tran Duc Lai - Chairman of the Radio and Electronics Association of Vietnam (REV), in 2024, the Vietnamese telecommunications industry will achieve a total revenue of about 147 trillion VND, an increase of 3.49% compared to the previous year, reflecting the stable growth of the sector. The rate of implementation of the RPKI standard, an Internet resource security standard, reached 88%, demonstrating a strong commitment to information security.

Mr. Lai said that the current orientation for digital infrastructure development has a solid foundation from Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Party on scientific and technological breakthroughs and national digital transformation, which emphasizes the requirement to develop modern, synchronous, safe, efficient and waste-free technical infrastructure.

In addition, two new Decrees 147/2024/ND-CP and 163/2024/ND-CP have been issued by the Government to optimize frequency resources, expand the legal corridor for small and medium-sized telecommunications enterprises, and create a fair and healthy competitive environment.

At the forum, experts shared many solutions applying artificial intelligence (AI), robots and automation to improve performance in the telecommunications sector. Many new models in network operation, frequency resource management, and user behavior analysis were introduced, bringing prospects for improving business efficiency and reducing operating costs.

Cloud continues to play an important role as more and more organizations and businesses rely on services to store, process and protect big data. Developing modern, green data centers with PUE below 1.4 is a top priority to save energy, protect the environment and ensure sustainable operations.

Vietnam is also taking steps to prepare for 6G, in which research on frequency bands for space and terrestrial networks is being accelerated. This is a strategic direction to ensure the effective exploitation of frequency resources in the future.

Within the framework of the forum, the Vietnam Radio and Electronics Association in collaboration with IDG Vietnam announced and presented the 2025 Outstanding Mobile Broadband Service Providers, ISPs and Clouds Awards. This annual award has been held since 2017 to honor businesses with outstanding contributions to the development of digital infrastructure, connection services and national digital transformation.
