At the invitation of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong and his wife,President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vo Van Thuong and his wife, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping and his wife paid a State visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from December 12 to 13, 2023.

General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping was born in 1953; hometown: Phu Binh district, Shaanxi province, China. Comrade Xi Jinping joined the Communist Party of China in January 1974. He is a postgraduate student majoring in Marxist-Leninist Theory and Ideological and PoliticalEducation , Academy of Social Sciences and Humanities, Tsinghua University and holds a Doctorate in Law; has a degree in Chemical Engineering.
