General Secretary To Lam attends the inauguration ceremony of the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Room with the Vietnam-Azerbaijan oil and gas industry

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the good traditional friendship between Vietnam and Azerbaijan was founded by President Ho Chi Minh 's historic visit to Azerbaijan in 1959 and nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries, including the late President Heydar Aliyev.

The General Secretary acknowledged the assistance of friendly and fraternal countries, including Azerbaijan, a country with a world- famous tradition of oil and gas research and exploitation, and a cradle that has trained many leaders and high-quality labor force in the oil and gas industry for Vietnam.

The General Secretary recalled that President Ho Chi Minh had early recognized the role of the oil and gas industry in the cause of building and defending the Vietnamese Fatherland, as well as his concerns in finding this valuable resource to serve the country's development.

During his visit to Azerbaijan in 1959, President Ho Chi Minh said: "I think Vietnam has the sea, we will definitely have oil, but we are at war, so we cannot do it yet. I hope and believe that after Vietnam wins the resistance war, you comrades will help us find oil, exploit and process oil, and build an oil and gas industrial zone like Baku...".

The General Secretary affirmed that the inauguration of the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Room with the Vietnam-Azerbaijan oil and gas industry is a testament to the determination of the people of Vietnam and Azerbaijan in realizing his wish to build an increasingly strong Vietnam oil and gas industry and deepen cooperation in the oil and gas sector between the two countries.

The Memorial Room of President Ho Chi Minh with the Vietnam-Azerbaijan oil and gas industry was built on the campus of Azerbaijan National University of Oil and Industry, Baku, Azerbaijan.

The Memorial Room includes a statue of President Ho Chi Minh and exhibition spaces, preserving valuable images and documents about President Ho Chi Minh with Azerbaijan, images of mutual visits by leaders of the two countries and images of President Ho Chi Minh with the Vietnam-Azerbaijan oil and gas industry.

The inauguration of the Memorial Room is a testament to the affection of the people of the world and the people of Azerbaijan towards President Ho Chi Minh, especially on the occasion of the two countries establishing a strategic partnership.

Chairman of the Board of Members of the Vietnam National Industry and Energy Group Le Manh Hung said that the inauguration of the Memorial Room is not only a symbol of the traditional friendship and close relationship between Vietnam and Azerbaijan that was nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh, but also marks a new milestone and a new aspiration of Petrovietnam in the transition period, contributing to the new development stage of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
