Hanoi still has 5 key dykes to prevent and combat natural disasters by 2025

Based on the assessment of the current status of the works before the 2025 flood season, the Department of Agriculture and Environment identified 5 key areas of the river dykes from level III to special level located in Hanoi. These are the Xuan Canh dike and embankment area - Long Tuu culvert located on the left dike line of Duong in Dong Anh district; Lien Mac culvert located on the right dike line of Hong in Bac Tu Liem district; Cam Dinh culvert located on the Van Coc dike line of Phuc Tho district; Tan Hung - Cam Ha dike and culvert located on the right dike line of Cau in Soc Son district and the culvert cluster across Yen So dike located on the right dike line of Hong in Hoang Mai district.

To ensure the safety of the above-mentioned key dykes, the Hanoi People's Committee assigned the City's Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue to focus on directing, inspecting and urging all levels and sectors to fully prepare forces, materials, means and conditions to ensure the implementation of the plan according to the "4 on-site" motto; promptly mobilize forces, materials and means to support districts, towns and cities in preventing, responding to and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters when they exceed the capacity of localities.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment - the standing agency for natural disaster prevention and control of the City's Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue regularly inspects, reviews, promptly adjusts and supplements the dike protection plan and protects key areas for natural disaster prevention and control in 2025 in accordance with the actual situation; based on the proposed plan to organize local authorities at 2 levels in the city, proactively review the characteristics of the dike situation according to the new organization plan for updating.

The People's Committees of districts, towns and cities are responsible for closely monitoring and promptly reporting all developments of incidents and natural disasters in the area; proactively mobilizing all resources to handle incidents as soon as they arise, ensuring the safety of dikes, minimizing damage caused by natural disasters, ensuring the safety of people and property of the State and people...
