At the invitation of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jormat Tokayev, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko, General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, will pay a state visit to Kazakhstan, a state visit to Azerbaijan, an official visit to the Russian Federation and attend the 80th anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War, and a state visit to Belarus from May 5-12.

Relations between Vietnam and Kazakhstan have had positive developments, especially after the official visit of Kazakh President K. Tokayev to Vietnam in August 2023.

The current trade turnover is still very modest compared to the potential and desires of both sides, especially when the import and export goods of the two countries do not compete directly with each other, but on the contrary, can supplement and enrich each other's markets. The two countries are closely coordinating to soon achieve the target of two-way trade turnover of 1.5 billion USD.

The two countries have signed an agreement on visa exemption for ordinary passport holders.

Vietnam and Azerbaijan have enjoyed a good traditional friendship that developed decades before the two countries established official diplomatic relations in 1992, including the particularly important visit of President Ho Chi Minh to Azerbaijan in 1959, which laid the foundation for bilateral relations.

2024 marks the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Azerbaijan.

The two sides maintain the exchange of delegations at all levels and bilateral mechanisms, contributing to promoting cooperation in many fields. The two countries still have much room to promote economic cooperation, especially in fields that can complement each other such as energy, mining, agriculture, etc. In addition, the two countries have great potential for cooperation in the fields of defense-security, science-technology, innovation, creativity, culture, sports, tourism, etc.

The Vietnam-Russia relationship after 75 years of development cooperation demonstrates sustainable political trust in the context of many changes in the world. Although each country has faced many difficulties and challenges at times, the Vietnam-Russia relationship has increasingly developed in all areas with politics and diplomacy as the fulcrum, defense and security as the focus, economy and trade as the driving force, and cooperation in all areas has been strengthened.

In 2025, in addition to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries also celebrate many important historical events of each country. Inheriting the good relationship nurtured by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries over the past 75 years, the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia continues to achieve many positive results, worthy of the glorious history of the two countries.

Russia has invited Vietnam to send troops to participate in the parade at Red Square. A delegation of 86 soldiers from the Vietnam People's Army arrived in Moscow more than a week ago and practiced the parade with other countries.

The Vietnam-Belarus relationship is a strong traditional friendship, built on the foundation of mutual trust and respect. The two sides maintain many delegation exchanges through all Party, State, and National Assembly channels between ministries, sectors, and localities, thereby contributing to strengthening political trust between the two countries.

The two countries signed an agreement on visa exemption for citizens of the two countries, encouraging and supporting airlines of the two countries to consider opening direct flights to promote tourism, investment, trade and people-to-people exchange.

Vietnam and Belarus have many premises and potential to promote cooperation in other fields such as science, technology, innovation, creativity, agriculture and mechanical engineering, culture, sports, etc.
