The General Secretary affirmed that sincere feelings, mutual assistance and support in difficult circumstances and high political trust are invaluable assets and a solid foundation for the two countries to move towards a new phase of cooperation, taking advantage of all potentials and strengths to complement each other, serving the development goals of each country, contributing to peace , stability, cooperation and development in each region and in the world.

General Secretary To Lam expressed his satisfaction with the positive developments in the Vietnam-Czech Republic relations in recent times, and affirmed that the two-way trade turnover of 2 billion USD is still modest, not commensurate with the potential and strengths as well as the good political relations between the two countries. With many famous products that do not compete with each other, the two sides need to increase trade promotion activities to increase the turnover to 5 billion USD in the next few years, and at the same time, through each other's markets, connect with the European and Southeast Asian markets to enhance strategic autonomy, diversify markets and supply sources, and participate more deeply in the global supply chain and value chain.

Appreciating the talks between National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and President of the Czech Senate Milos Vystrcil, General Secretary To Lam hoped that the legislative bodies of the two countries would continue to coordinate closely, create a legal corridor, and facilitate efforts to promote cooperation between the two countries, meeting the common interests of the two nations.

Affirming that the two countries have many similarities and overlapping interests; there is no problem that can hinder the development of bilateral cooperation, the General Secretary suggested that the two sides increase delegation exchanges at all levels and between Party, State, National Assembly channels, local cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, coordinate and support each other at international organizations and multilateral forums, promote cooperation in economics, trade, investment, defense-security, science-technology, education-training, culture and tourism, and expand cooperation in new areas such as clean energy, renewable energy, digital transformation to "awaken the potential" of bilateral cooperation.

Expressing his pleasure to visit Vietnam and thanking General Secretary To Lam for taking the time to receive the delegation, President of the Senate of the Czech Republic Milos Vystrcil expressed his admiration for the heroic historical journey of the Vietnamese people since gaining independence and national reunification, and congratulated Vietnam on its important achievements in socio-economic development and international integration in recent times, considering it a model for other countries to learn from and promote cooperation.

The President of the Czech Senate expressed his high agreement with the cooperation orientations outlined by the General Secretary, affirming that he and the Senate of the Czech Republic will make efforts to coordinate with the Vietnamese National Assembly, support the Government and local ministries and branches to promote traditional friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation, on the basis of mutual respect with Vietnam. In that spirit, the Senate of the Czech Republic is ready to urge the remaining European Union (EU) member countries to soon ratify the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).

The two leaders agreed that, in addition to the historical foundation of a very good relationship, the two countries also possess invaluable assets to continuously promote bilateral relations in the coming time. These are the sincere feelings and affection that the people of the two countries have for each other; the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic being recognized as an ethnic minority; tens of thousands of Vietnamese experts and engineers who have been trained in the Czech Republic and about 300,000 Vietnamese people who understand the Czech language. These are important bridges to connect the two peoples, two markets, two economies and two countries.

The two sides agreed to accelerate the development, agreement and implementation of the Action Plan to realize the content of the Vietnam-Czech Republic Strategic Partnership, turning potentials and strengths into specific, practical and effective cooperation projects, meeting the wishes and interests of both sides.

The President of the Senate of the Czech Republic highly appreciated the role and positive contributions of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic and affirmed that he will continue to create favorable conditions for the community to live, study and work stably and long-term in the Czech Republic; affirmed his support for the settlement of disputes by peaceful means on the basis of international law, for peace, stability and development of each region and the world and supported Vietnam's stance on the East Sea.

The General Secretary also asked the Czech Republic to continue creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, study and work in the Czech Republic, promoting the community's contributions to the socio-economic development of the Czech Republic as well as the relationship between the two countries in general.
