- On the afternoon of September 19, at Hong Phong commune, Binh Gia district, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province organized a closing ceremony for the class to teach and restore the Tay and Nung ethnic lion dance in Hong Phong commune.

The class to teach and restore the Tay and Nung ethnic lion dance in Hong Phong commune, Binh Gia district opened on August 2, 2024 with 30 students.

The students are students of Hong Phong Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities and some neighboring communes in the area. After more than 1 month of studying, the students have acquired basic knowledge about the lion dance of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups; and are able to practice relatively well some rituals and performances in the local Tay and Nung lion dance such as: opening ceremony, worshiping the gods, walking, hunting lions, raising monkeys, etc.

At the closing ceremony, students performed some rituals and plays learned in class.

Leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province awarded certificates to two artisans teaching the class.

Also in the program, 2 artisans and 30 students received a certificate of "Having participated in the class to teach and restore some rituals and performances in the Tay and Nung ethnic lion dance in Hong Phong commune, Binh Gia district" from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

On this occasion, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also supported and handed over 2 sets of lion dance props (including lion head, tiger head, cymbals, panther, percussion, martial arts set) worth 50 million VND to Hong Phong commune to continue researching, restoring, and preserving the rituals and performances in the Tay and Nung ethnic lion dance in the area.
