In a speech on February 13 to rally support for a $95.34 billion bill that includes aid to Ukraine, Israel and several other US allies, President Joe Biden condemned his predecessor Donald Trump's comments on NATO security.

Previously, during a campaign rally in South Carolina on February 10, Mr. Donald Trump expressed his view that the US would not protect NATO allies if these countries did not spend enough money on defense budgets as required by the bloc.
Mr Trump's remarks have set off alarm bells across Europe, leaving many leaders worried about the decisions the former US president would make in a second term, if he wins this year's election.
Commenting on these statements, President Joe Biden said: “Can you imagine a former US president saying that? The whole world heard it.” The current White House boss said that what his predecessor said on February 12 about NATO was “dangerous” and “bad”.
President Biden also criticized Mr. Trump for encouraging Republicans in the US House of Representatives to refuse to support the bill that his administration is proposing, which includes tens of billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine, Israel and several other allies.
“The stakes for American security were high before this bill passed the Senate last night,” President Biden said. “But in recent days, those stakes have increased. And that’s because the former president sent a shocking and dangerous signal to the world.”
