President Putin leaves Hanoi to return home

On the evening of June 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his high-ranking delegation moved to Noi Bai airport to board a special plane to leave Hanoi, successfully concluding his visit to Vietnam at the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

After attending the reception, the Russian President left the Opera House. To ensure security for the delegation, police put up ropes and blocked roads along the streets from Hanoi city center to Noi Bai airport.

The Russian President held talks with General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong and President To Lam, met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man. Mr. Putin also visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and laid flowers at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs. President To Lam and President Vladimir Putin met with Vietnamese alumni who graduated from universities in the Soviet Union and Russia. In a friendly and cordial atmosphere, the two sides had in-depth discussions on many contents and directions to promote Vietnam-Russia relations in the fields of politics, economics-trade, science-technology and humanities. The two sides also discussed many international and regional issues of mutual concern in a spirit of trust. The two sides also issued a Joint Statement on deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership on the basis of 30 years of implementing the Treaty on the Fundamental Principles of Vietnam-Russia Friendship Relations.
