Over the years, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) has affirmed its role as the official information agency of the State, a prestigious national news agency.
Information provided by VNA is always timely, accurate, and faithfully reflects the Party and State’s guidelines and policies. This not only contributes to orienting domestic public opinion, but also helps the international community better understand Vietnam’s progress in integration and development.
This was the affirmation of Ms. Rachel Isenschmid, Secretary General of the Switzerland-Vietnam Economic Forum (SVEF) in a conversation with VNA reporters in Switzerland on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of VNA's founding (September 15, 1945 - September 15, 2025).
According to Ms. Rachel Isenschmid, from a personal perspective, SVEF always appreciates the role of VNA in supporting the dissemination of economic- political -social connection activities between Vietnam and Switzerland in particular, as well as internationally in general.
VNA has helped convey SVEF's message to a higher level, bringing the image of an integrated, dynamic and creative Vietnam to international friends.
She affirmed: “VNA has played a good role as a key foreign press agency, constantly providing official information about Vietnam to the international community. VNA's information is both accurate and systematic, emphasizing Vietnam's efforts in international integration, economic reform, sustainable development, and contributions to global issues. For SVEF, VNA's news and articles have created a solid communication bridge, helping international friends and investors have a clearer view of the potential for cooperation with Vietnam. These messages not only serve the need to find information but also create trust and strengthen bilateral relations.”
With a network of 30 overseas bureaus, VNA has reflected the local and regional situation objectively and promptly, as well as helped international friends better understand the Party and State's foreign policies and guidelines, socio-economic development strategies and plans, and Vietnam's achievements.
Ms. Rachel Isenschmid emphasized that VNA is present in many countries, not only performing foreign information duties but also being an important bridge with the Vietnamese community abroad.
She said: “Information from VNA helps overseas Vietnamese to promptly update the situation in their homeland, thereby maintaining their attachment, strengthening national pride and their desire to contribute. In particular, through SVEF activities, VNA’s companionship has contributed to connecting the overseas Vietnamese community in Switzerland and Europe with their homeland, encouraging them to participate more in bilateral cooperation activities.”
