Ho Chi Minh City pledges not to cause trouble or harassment to businesses wanting to trade in gold.

On May 14, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Region 2 Branch sent a document to the relevant authorities in Ho Chi Minh City, including the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Police, the Tax Department of Region II, Thu Duc City and districts... requesting to increase information and propaganda on the production of gold jewelry and fine arts. Thereby, improving management efficiency and ensuring the gold market operates transparently and in accordance with regulations.

According to the State Bank of Vietnam, the production of gold jewelry and fine arts is a conditional business sector. Businesses must not only have a business registration certificate and register their business lines in accordance with regulations, but also meet the conditions on facilities, specialized equipment; ensure regulations related to product quality and origin; invoices and documents. The production and business areas must be safe and secure, ensure fire prevention and fighting, protect the environment, etc.

The State Bank of Vietnam, Region 2 Branch, will issue the Certificate of Eligibility for Gold Jewelry and Fine Arts Production with public and transparent administrative procedures. These procedures are carried out directly at the one-stop department and are completely free of charge at No. 8 Vo Van Kiet Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. Enterprises in need should contact and submit their applications directly and will be received and processed in accordance with regulations.

The agency recommends that businesses avoid using unnecessary intermediary services, which can easily incur costs and affect the quality of public services.

“In the context of strong fluctuations in world gold prices, businesses producing gold jewelry and fine arts need to strictly comply with regulations on origin, invoices and documents... to ensure transparent business operations, contributing to stabilizing the domestic gold market and supporting economic growth,” the announcement of the State Bank of Vietnam, Region 2 branch noted.
