Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the education and training sector identified the work of discovering and nurturing excellent and talented students as one of the particularly important tasks. At the same time, it is a key strategy contributing to improving the quality of human resources.
To carry out that task, educational institutions have enhanced innovation in teaching and learning methods, integrated information technology, improved the quality of comprehensive education; promoted the role of specialized schools, focused on developing the talents, qualities and outstanding abilities of students studying specialized subjects; created all favorable conditions for teachers to participate in nurturing excellent students.
However, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training also frankly admitted that the recent results of the excellent student exam showed a lack of uniformity between departments, units and regions, demonstrating the lack of sustainability in training excellent students.

She suggested that the education sector continue to pay attention, create conditions, advise and propose to the city's leaders to develop a number of schools following the specialized school model, especially in the fields of culture and arts, contributing to building the city into a cultural industrial center of the country.
