Ho Chi Minh City: Will verify and handle offensive fashion shows

On May 25, at a meeting to provide information on socio -economic issues and epidemic prevention and control work in Ho Chi Minh City, a representative of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City said that the offensive fashion show by designer Tuong Danh did not follow the administrative procedures in accordance with regulations.

The Department Inspectorate is coordinating with relevant agencies, consulting experts to verify the incident and handle it in accordance with legal regulations.

According to Ms. Nguyen My Hanh, the Department also coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City to discuss measures to promptly inspect and handle cases where images and content that violate the law are spread on the internet. The results of the handling will soon be informed to media units.

At the press conference, regarding the development of cultural and sports projects, Ms. Nguyen My Hanh, Deputy Chief of Office of the City Department of Culture and Sports, said that in the city there are 185 ranked relics and 100 construction sites on the inventory list.

In addition to large-scale investment projects such as Phu Tho Circus and Multi-purpose Performance Hall with a total investment of 1,395 billion VND from the city budget, the city also focuses on investing in projects to restore and embellish Giac Vien Pagoda (phase 2), Chi Hoa Communal House; restore and embellish the History Museum, Hung King Temple in the Zoo and Botanical Garden; restore and embellish the national archaeological site of Giong Ca Vo (phase 2)...

In addition, the Department is studying and proposing projects calling for socialization under the PPP method and attracting FDI capital for about 27 projects; will review the real estate facilities under management to consider eligible premises to be included in the investment calling list.

As soon as the draft resolution replacing Resolution 54 is passed, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports will coordinate with the city's Department of Planning and Investment and relevant units to plan and develop options, and invite investors to participate in projects.
