On the afternoon of June 16, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (VNU-HCM) announced enrollment information for the 2025 school year. This year, the school enrolls students in the standard program with 41 majors/specializations, and the English-taught program with 27 majors/specializations. The total enrollment target is 5,550.

Polytechnic University applies a comprehensive admission method for the majority of candidates and a direct admission method according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the school's regulations.
In which, the comprehensive admission method including criteria on academic ability, other abilities, and social activities accounts for about 95% - 99% of the total quota; the direct admission method accounts for about 1% - 5% of the total quota.
In addition, the school also has many other special training programs, specifically:
- International Bachelor of Engineering joint program between the University of Technology and the University of Technology Sydney UTS (Australia): 200 quotas
- Advanced program: 150 targets
- Japan Orientation Program: 70 targets
- International transfer program (Australia, USA, New Zealand): 145 targets
- International transfer program (Japan): 20 quotas (admission of new students admitted to the standard program in electrical and electronic engineering)
- Vietnam - France High Quality Engineer Program (PFIEV): 200 quotas (considered after admission)
- Talent program: admission after 1 year of study.
Regarding the admission combination, the school has adjusted it to suit the 2018 generaleducation program. If a candidate has more than 1 combination, the combination with the highest admission score will be taken. The school also noted that the threshold to ensure input quality of the comprehensive admission method is 50/100 points. If a candidate has more than 1 admission subject, the subject with the highest admission score will be taken.
In case candidates have an IELTS Academic certificate of 5.0 or higher, TOEFL iBT of 46 or higher, or TOEIC listening - reading of 460 and speaking - writing of 200 or higher, they will be converted to English scores in the high school graduation exam results and high school study scores for admission combinations using English.
