Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training requires schools to strengthen communication and propaganda activities on disease prevention in schools about symptoms and ways to prevent Covid-19 for students, teachers and parents. In particular, focusing on propaganda and mobilization to implement measures to prevent and control Covid-19, risk factors and harmful effects of the disease.

Schools need to coordinate closely with local health stations to detect suspected cases early; monitor, detect, and investigate people with infectious diseases; monitor pathogens, and handle outbreaks (if any). Pay special attention to protecting high-risk groups, strengthening protection, and supporting students with underlying diseases, elderly teachers, people with weak immune systems, underlying diseases, teachers, and pregnant women. Encourage wearing masks in closed, crowded spaces.

At the same time, the department requires schools to proactively prepare plans to prevent and control the epidemic. Specifically: Review and update the unit's epidemic prevention and control plan; continue to implement infection prevention and control. Ensure adequate disinfectant solutions, medical masks, organize cleaning of classrooms, toilets, and public areas.

When detecting a suspected case or unusual situation, the school must immediately report to the Department of Education and Training of the district, county and Thu Duc City and coordinate with local health authorities to handle the situation properly. Fully implement the information reporting and declaration regime for infectious diseases and epidemics according to regulations.

Mr. Duong Tri Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, requested units to be proactive and flexible in implementing Covid-19 prevention activities in schools without creating panic, while still ensuring the health and safety of students and teachers, contributing to stabilizing educational activities.
