Ho Chi Minh City promotes cooperation in many fields with Thailand and Indonesia

At the reception for the Thai Ambassador to Vietnam, Comrade Nguyen Van Duoc expressed his delight at the positive results in the cooperation in all fields between Vietnam and Thailand, including the important milestone when the two countries upgraded to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The fact that Thailand ranks 9th among the total number of countries and territories investing in Vietnam is a testament to the effective cooperation between the two countries. Fields such as tourism and aviation are also constantly developing. People-to-people exchanges are promoted, helping people of the two countries understand each other better...

According to comrade Nguyen Van Duoc, the new Ho Chi Minh City has a large and attractive economic space for development, attracting investors with the following orientations: Binh Duong region (formerly) develops industry; Ba Ria - Vung Tau region (formerly) develops marine economy, marine tourism, clean energy, logistics and the central area of ​​Ho Chi Minh City (formerly) develops high technology, services, and international finance. With the motto that Vietnam wants to be a friend and reliable partner of all countries, Ho Chi Minh City always pays attention to FDI enterprises, including Thai enterprises. City leaders welcome and will create conditions for Amata Group to build industrial parks in Ho Chi Minh City. Comrade Nguyen Van Duoc affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City is ready to accompany Thai enterprises.

Currently, large Thai corporations such as Central Group, Super Energy... all have representative offices in Ho Chi Minh City. The Thai Ambassador to Vietnam sees that Ho Chi Minh City has great potential in areas such as logistics, energy, high technology... According to Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya, the two countries upgrading their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and realizing the "3 Connections" strategy - connecting the supply chain; connecting businesses and localities of the two countries and connecting sustainable growth strategies - will strongly promote Thailand - Vietnam cooperation in many fields.

In 2026, the two countries will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. The Thai Ambassador to Vietnam said that based on the foundation of good traditional relations, Thai businesses wish to contribute to the development of Vietnam in the "era of rising".

At the reception for the Indonesian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Comrade Nguyen Van Duoc said that the Vietnam - Indonesia cooperation relationship built over the past 70 years has achieved many good results. However, compared to the depth of the relationship, economic cooperation between the two countries still has many limitations. The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee hopes that during her term, Ms. Carolina Tinangon will have many initiatives to promote practical and effective cooperation between the two sides.

Appreciating Indonesia's position in the international arena, economic potential, and population advantage, comrade Nguyen Van Duoc expressed his hope that Indonesia will support and help Vietnam develop the Halal industry and become a gateway for Vietnamese goods to penetrate the Middle East market.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that the city has many food businesses and hopes that there will be many opportunities for businesses in Ho Chi Minh City and Indonesia to meet, exchange, cooperate, and learn from each other in the processing industry. Specifically, according to comrade Nguyen Van Duoc, it is expected that in December, Ho Chi Minh City will organize a Halal goods fair to connect businesses in the city operating in this field. The fair will have the participation of businesses in the processing industry, introduce agricultural products and have forums for businesses to meet and exchange.

The new Indonesian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City agreed with the opinion of the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee that cooperation between the two sides still has many limitations despite a lot of potential. Ms. Carolina Tinangon said that the two sides can promote cooperation in areas of both sides' strengths and interests such as technology, agriculture - forestry, culture, education, etc.
