On the afternoon of October 24, the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a notice of the conclusion of Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong on the implementation of green transformation tasks in the field of transportation.

Accordingly, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong assigned the Department of Construction to preside over the review of all programs, projects and plans related to green transformation to ensure consistency, inheritance, no duplication, and completion before November 15. In particular, it is necessary to complete the Vehicle Emission Control Project to submit to the City People's Council in the November 2025 session and prepare for phase 2 implementation in Con Dao and Can Gio.
The Department of Industry and Trade and the Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation coordinate to ensure power supply for electric vehicle charging infrastructure until 2030, with a vision to 2045. The Ho Chi Minh City Police Department is assigned to strengthen propaganda and provide guidance on fire prevention and fighting safety when using and charging electric vehicles in households, apartments, and commercial centers.
To implement this program, Ho Chi Minh City will issue a Green Transformation Plan in transportation before November 15, 2025. Launch the Co Ong - Con Dao Center electric bus route in early December 2025. Promote the project to convert two-wheeled vehicles from gasoline to electric for all technology and delivery drivers, expected to be assessed before November 20, 2025.
Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong emphasized that green transformation in transportation is a key and urgent task, contributing to reducing emissions, protecting the environment and moving towards the goal of Ho Chi Minh City developing sustainably, green - clean - smart.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the city has made a lot of progress in its green transformation roadmap. Specifically, 45.2% of buses in operation use electricity or CNG; 71% of taxis operate on electricity; 28.1% of technology motorbikes use electricity. The electric charging infrastructure continues to expand with about 1,000 charging stations, of which V-Green accounts for the majority with nearly 9,500 charging stations and 14,700 charging ports. Enterprises such as Selex Motors have also implemented a shared battery swap model, contributing to promoting a circular economy in urban transport.
