Ho Chi Minh City proposes continuous fireworks display on Saturday to celebrate April 30

The proposed fireworks display location is at the entrance of Thu Thiem Tunnel - Thu Duc City.

The proposed fireworks display location is at the entrance of Thu Thiem Tunnel - Thu Duc City.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City, in response to the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), from March 20 to May 31, Ho Chi Minh City will organize a series of cultural and sports activities with many practical meanings.

In particular, on Saturday evenings of April 19, April 26, May 3, May 10, and May 17, there will be art programs such as: music stage, street music performances, cruise ship parade, flower boat performance on Saigon River, paragliding and flyboard performances... will be held at Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Bach Dang Wharf, Saigon River, and Thu Duc Riverside Park.

On April 29 and 30, at Nguyen Hue Walking Street and the Bach Dang Wharf - Saigon River area, there will be many unique art performances such as circus, magic, opera, martial arts, trumpet music, etc. In addition, on the evening of April 30, a performance with 10,500 drones will be performed with many meaningful images of Ho Chi Minh City over the past 50 years. It is expected that this drone performance will also set a Vietnamese record for the largest number of drones flying at one time.

In particular, with the meaning of the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City proposed to continuously shoot fireworks every Saturday night from April 19 to May 31 at the Saigon River tunnel area in Thu Duc City.

On the evening of April 30, the city is expected to set off fireworks at 7 locations, including: the entrance of Thu Thiem tunnel (Thu Duc city), Ben Duoc Martyrs Memorial Temple (Cu Chi district), Nga Ba Giong Martyrs Memorial Area (Hoc Mon district), Lang Le - Bau Co relic site (Binh Chanh district), Can Gio football field (Can Gio district), National History - Culture Park (Thu Duc city) and Dam Sen Cultural Park (District 11).

Ho Chi Minh City is also mobilizing districts, towns and businesses located in the area to participate in organizing additional fireworks displays to contribute to creating a vibrant festival atmosphere throughout the city.
