
The event was organized in both in-person and online formats. At the main location at Saigon Riverside Park, about 5,000 students participated. In addition, at 150 online locations in high schools, more than 55,000 students participated in the performance.
Speaking at the event, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Hieu said that the Vovinam performance is part of a series of activities to celebrate 50 years of building and developing the education and training sector of Ho Chi Minh City (1975-2025).
"We witnessed a special moment, which was the martial arts performance of more than 60,000 students, along with more than 2,000 athletes participating in the EDON 2025 race. They have worked hard to practice for a long time to set a double record in Vietnam and the world for the largest number of people participating in the Vovinam performance ever. They are the heart of the festival celebrating the city's 50th anniversary of educational development. Today's achievement is the pride of teachers, families and the entire education sector," said Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu.
The activity attracted the participation of students at many levels, from primary to high school, and was connected online at 150 locations across the city.

At the event, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong assessed that this was a particularly meaningful activity in the series of activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the formation and development of the city's education sector. The performance not only impressed by its scale but also demonstrated the spirit of solidarity, discipline and creativity of Ho Chi Minh City students.
"The double record is a testament to the efforts to innovate education, affirming Ho Chi Minh City's pioneering position in bringing national cultural and sports values into the school environment. The spread of Vovinam among students also contributes to preserving and promoting the value of Vietnamese martial arts, bringing the traditional subject of the nation to the international arena," said Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong.

In addition to recognizing the efforts of teachers, students and the support of parents, the Deputy Minister of Education and Training suggested that the city continue to expand and improve the quality of school sports clubs, linking physical education with training in qualities, lifestyle and skills for students, creating conditions for them to become active and creative citizens, contributing to the development of Ho Chi Minh City and the country.
