As the need for healthy entertainment and relaxation after work, study, and labor becomes more popular, the painting workshop in Long Xuyen ward ( An Giang province) has become an ideal destination for both adults and children. Not just a simple painting lesson, the painting workshop offers a unique experience, participants can create their own works of art under the guidance of skilled people.

Each workshop is a journey of self -discovery through each line and color of the painting and creates more opportunities for connection between people who love painting.

Catie painting workshop in Long Xuyen ward was organized by two friends Diem Trang and To Nhi (both born in 1994), operating from 2022 to present. Currently, the workshop is held every Sunday or every other week at Hanvy Garden restaurant, Long Xuyen ward, attracting many people of different ages to experience.

To create an artistic painting experience space, at Hanvy Garden there are many paintings displayed, with a variety of frames, colors, and brushes for guests to "transform" into artists.

Talking about the idea of doing a painting workshop, Diem Trang said: “With the desire to bring a useful form of entertainment to many young people, we established a painting workshop. Initially, the workshop was only for adults to participate, then we expanded the audience, welcoming children to experience. We are very happy that many people with the same hobby came to try their skills.”

Young people participate in a painting workshop at Hanvy Garden, Long Xuyen ward.

Normally, each painting workshop has a maximum of 8 participants for the convenience of the instructor. They do not need to have any skills or in-depth knowledge of painting. Each painting is drawn according to a given model or drawn freely, the workshop members will guide and support customers to express the painting according to their own creative ideas.

Taking on the task of guiding workshop participants, Diem Trang shared: “In each experience session, we will give different painting topics. Then, step-by-step instructions for customers to gradually complete the painting. In addition, customers can decorate and create their own paintings to make them more vivid according to their preferences. If customers have their own ideas, we are ready to support them in completing them. As for workshops organized for children to experience, parents can join in without any charge.”

Amidst the hustle and bustle of society, when bustling entertainment activities gradually become familiar, many people tend to seek gentle experiences to calm their souls and learn more useful skills, so artistic workshops such as painting are chosen by many people. One of the benefits of painting workshops is to help participants relieve stress and pressure by calming their minds and focusing on each stroke. After a few hours of focusing on choosing colors and creating lines for the painting, participants can relax, be creative, and temporarily forget about daily worries.

“After each workshop, we realize that each completed painting is a unique idea and imagination of each child and reflects the thoughts and feelings of each adult who comes to experience it. Our goal is to guide each customer so that even if it is their first time approaching painting, they can still complete a painting to take home as a souvenir,” said Diem Trang.

Painting workshops help participants relieve stress and pressure by focusing on each stroke.

Not only organizing painting workshops for passion and extra income, Catie workshop members hope to inspire more people about painting and art through the experience. Painting workshops do not focus on technique but focus on encouraging participants to feel comfortable and freely express their emotions and associations through the painting.

Each painting workshop usually ends with participants taking their work home to decorate or give as gifts to friends and relatives. This is also considered a “special” product, reminding of the short, relaxing and fun time that each person experienced.

Having brought her child to experience painting, Ms. Le Ha My, a resident of Long Xuyen ward, said: “I find that letting my child participate in a painting workshop is a useful activity. Because in addition to entertainment, the children will learn new skills. After just a few hours of experience, the workshop ends, each child has a painting to bring home as a souvenir, to give to grandparents, parents or friends.” Not only children enjoy the experiential activity, many adults are also attracted to the workshop.

Ms. Hoang Thien Tu, a resident of Long Xuyen ward, expressed: “The members of Catie workshop always make customers feel comfortable, friendly, and happy when participating in the experience. From knowing nothing about drawing, after about 3 hours of “playing” with brushes and drawing colors, each person experiencing the workshop can bring home a painting “painted” by their own hands, feeling very interesting”.
