The competition, organized by VTV Times in collaboration with the Chinese Cultural Center in Hanoi, commemorates the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam, and is also the "Vietnam-China Humanistic Exchange Year," aiming to promote cultural exchange and enhance understanding and solidarity between the people of the two countries.
The contest was launched on November 11th and ended on November 30th. In just 20 days, more than 800 entries were submitted, showcasing creative approaches, compelling storytelling, and incredibly elaborate projects from young authors.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, journalist Vu Thanh Thuy, Editor-in-Chief of VTV Times and Head of the Organizing Committee of the competition, shared: “Since its launch, the competition has received strong interest. In less than three weeks, more than 800 entries were submitted. What impressed and impressed the Organizing Committee was not just the quantity, but the depth of emotion in each article, each photograph, each video clip, and even the delicate drawings. In them, we saw journeys of studying and working in China; beautiful relationships between teachers and students, and friends; compassionate and emotional perspectives on a China that is changing every day; and even small stories that, after reading, warm our hearts because of the sincerity in every detail.”
The head of the organizing committee emphasized that these works, when combined, create a rich humanistic picture, showing the closeness of the two cultures and the enduring connection between the people of the two countries. That is the greatest value that the competition brings – transcending the boundaries of a typical cultural event to become an emotional bridge.

Mr. Truong Duc Son, Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Hanoi, also expressed his delight that within just two weeks, the organizing committee had received more than 800 entries from contestants of all ages across Vietnam.
The works adhere closely to two major themes: "Heartwarming Moments in My Journey of Encountering China" and "Modernizing China Through My Lens," expressed in a variety of rich, vivid, and authentic forms, reflecting what the author has witnessed, felt, and contemplated. These include emotionally rich and moving stories, unique photographic perspectives, and lively, visually engaging short videos.
Mr. Truong Duc Son also commented that each work is a unique window, helping us clearly feel the emotional connection between Vietnam and China; feel the fascinating life journey that the contestants embarked on through learning Chinese; the warm emotions arising from their love for Chinese cinema, literature, or music; and the positive impressions of China preserved through their travel, study, or work.

Commenting on the entries in the first "My Connection with China" writing and storytelling competition, Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Mai, Director of the Bac Nha Institute of Applied Linguistics Research and Head of the Judging Panel, said: "What is special is that the entries submitted this time span many generations, so the emotions are intergenerational - from the first generation of international students to young people studying today - and that creates very vivid snapshots of time in the entries we received."
The jury awarded 100 prizes to the authors, including 10 first prizes, 20 second prizes, 30 third prizes, and 40 consolation prizes in both themes: "Heartwarming moments in my journey encountering China" and "Modernizing China through my lens."
