Speaking at the ceremony, journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam - Editor-in-Chief of Education and Times Newspaper said that the contest "Learning about the history and tradition of patriotism of the Vietnamese people" was organized to promote information and propaganda about national history, the tradition of building and defending the country, national solidarity, fostering the spirit of patriotism, and typical examples in building and defending the Fatherland in the current period to teachers, students and pupils nationwide.
Mr. Dang Khac Loi, Deputy Director of the Press Department, Ministry of Information and Communications and journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam - Editor-in-Chief of Education and Times Newspaper awarded the first prize to the author.
After more than two months of implementation, the contest has attracted a certain amount of attention from people across the country; not only students, teachers but also parents and the elderly enthusiastically participated.
"It can be seen that the number of entries reflects the spread as well as the attraction and interest of a large number of readers and people from all walks of life to the country's history, enhancing national pride," journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam commented.
The organizing committee received nearly 22,000 entries. 178 entries entered the preliminary round and 21 entries entered the final round. The organizing committee decided to award 16 entries, including 2 group awards, 12 individual awards and 2 secondary awards.
The authors not only researched and invested in the content of their works, but also presented them creatively in new ways, incorporating elaborate and vivid images and clips.
The jury worked very carefully and impartially to select outstanding works that met the rules and criteria of the contest.
