At the ceremony, the Border Guard Command of Soc Trang province awarded support funds to 11 students in the coastal border area according to the project's support level: 7.4 million VND/1 student/year, of which, support for food is 5.4 million VND and support for purchasing supplies and learning materials is 2 million VND.
On this occasion, the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education awarded 50 scholarships, each worth 1 million VND, to students in difficult circumstances in the program "Helping children go to school".
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Le Van Anh, Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard, informed that the project "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school" is a meaningful humanitarian activity that has been implemented since 2022.

According to the plan, the Border Guard Command has advised the Ministry of National Defense to receive support for 5,437 children and adopt 400 children in border areas nationwide. In particular, the Border Guard of Soc Trang province coordinated with local Party committees, authorities, and school principals of 11 communes, wards, and towns in the coastal border areas of the province to consider, propose, and receive support for 11 children who meet the prescribed standards.
In addition, every year, the Border Guard Command of Soc Trang province coordinates with the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education to award 250 scholarships, each worth 1 million VND, to students in the "Helping Children Go to School" Program and students with difficult circumstances who overcome difficulties to study well in the coastal border areas of the province.
