Overcoming difficulties with children
After her parents and grandparents passed away due to serious illnesses, Huynh Pham Ngan Ha (born in 2007, Dien Phuoc commune, Dien Khanh district) had to live alone. Knowing her situation, the Women's Union of Dien Phuoc commune came to encourage and raise funds, calling for support so that she could continue to go to school. Implementing the "Godmother" program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lan - Head of the Women's Association of Pho Thien village (Dien Phuoc commune) took on the role of sponsor for her. From 2023 to present, the godmother and benefactors have supported Ha with 200,000 to 500,000 VND/month, along with necessities, clothes, books, etc. Currently, she lives with her grandparents and uncle in Dien Lac commune (Dien Khanh); every week, she returns home once to burn incense and clean the house. Ha shared: “I am very grateful to have received support from mothers and teachers over the past time. That support has encouraged me and helped me overcome difficulties when my family was no longer there. I will try my best in the upcoming exam to fulfill my dream of going to university. Later, when I graduate and have a stable job, I also want to become a godmother to help children in difficult circumstances.”

Currently, the Women's Union of Dien Phuoc commune sponsors two other orphans. The association mobilizes funds to support each child with 500,000 VND/year , along with books and necessities. Implementing the program "Following children to school", each year, the association awards more than 20 scholarships to students in difficult circumstances, worth about 500,000 VND/scholarship.

From the 2023-2024 school year to now, the Women's Union of Ninh Ha Ward (Ninh Hoa Town) has implemented the model "Overcoming difficulties to go to school with children". In addition to donating hundreds of textbooks, notebooks, clothes, and school supplies, the association also mobilizes funds to award dozens of scholarships and bicycles to poor students and students in difficult circumstances. Each year, the association supports about 20 students with gifts when entering the new school year. The association also sponsors and regularly supports 2 orphaned students and 1 student in special circumstances.
Since the beginning of the year, the Women's Union at all levels has helped 332 orphans with the amount of 200,000 VND to 1 million VND/child/month and uniforms, textbooks, school supplies, bicycles. At the same time, 522 scholarships, 5,480 gifts, 122 piggy banks, 500 sets of clothes, 450 notebooks were given to students, children in difficult circumstances, children with disabilities; children at shelters; children in coastal areas, ethnic minority areas with a total value of more than 2 billion VND.
Many practical programs
Every year, the Women's Union of Cam Lap commune (Cam Ranh city) awards scholarships and gifts to poor students, those in difficult circumstances, and those with serious illnesses. From the mobilized funds, the union will give bicycles, scholarships, school uniforms, ao dai, etc. to 5 to 10 students with a value of 200,000 to 500,000 VND/student. The union also mobilizes gifts for children on the occasion of International Children's Day June 1, Mid-Autumn Festival, etc. The Women's Union of Van Gia town, Van Tho commune (Van Ninh district) implements fundraising models to help disabled children, orphans, and those in difficult circumstances in the locality such as: "Love money box", "Savings box for disabled children", "Savings house for orphans", "Scrap piggy bank". Women's unions at all levels in the city. Nha Trang has implemented programs such as: "Following you to school", "A pair of loving leaves", "Godmother", "Poinsettia"... to help orphans and children in difficult circumstances. Other localities have also implemented many activities to support children.

Ms. Nguyen Hoang Van Ha - Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union said that in recent times, in addition to carrying out activities to help and care for children in difficult circumstances, the unions at all levels have also promoted propaganda and dissemination of legaleducation on children's rights. These include organizing training courses to improve knowledge and skills in caring for children with disabilities and orphans; communicating on preventing and combating violence and child abuse; educating on life skills and self-defense; disseminating information on child care, education and protection, etc. Thereby, helping children have the conditions to rise up in life, while raising awareness among children and their caregivers about children's rights. In the coming time, the unions at all levels will continue to mobilize resources to support children in difficult circumstances; promoting the role of the union in participating in monitoring and ensuring the rights and interests of children.
