Children and the problem of preventing domestic violence and child abuse

(QBĐT) - On March 29, at Dong Phu Secondary School (Dong Hoi City), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a children's forum in 2025 with the theme "Children and the issue of preventing and combating domestic violence and child abuse".

The forum attracted the participation of many students of Dong Phu Secondary School.

Within the framework of the forum, experts and speakers shared useful knowledge about children's rights, how to protect themselves, skills to handle situations and seek help when facing risks of abuse; risks of abuse in the online environment and how to prevent them.

The event aims to motivate students to raise their awareness of self-protection, contributing to building a safe and happy environment.

Representatives of the provincial police also instructed students on self-defense and escape skills when encountering dangerous situations. In addition, the forum also held a question and answer session with practical questions related to the topic of child protection.

The speaker shared useful knowledge about children's rights and how to protect yourself.

According to statistics, in 2024, the whole Quang Binh province recorded 30 cases of domestic violence, of which 28 cases involved women and children as victims. Although the number of cases decreased compared to previous years, this situation is still alarming.

The forum is an opportunity to promote and equip knowledge about the Law on Children, children's rights, as well as skills to prevent domestic violence and child abuse, contributing to creating a safe and healthy living environment for children.

At the same time, the event helps raise awareness and responsibility of families, schools and the whole society in protecting children, motivating students to raise their awareness of self-protection, contributing to building a safe and happy environment.
