Hau Giang Biomass Power Plant has a capacity of 2x10MW, located in Thuan An ward, Long My town, with a land area of over 10 hectares. The project started construction in mid-December 2022. Unit 1 is expected to be commercially operated by the end of November, and Unit 2 will be operational in January 2025. Currently, at the construction site, engineers and workers are overcoming all difficulties, focusing on construction, with the goal of putting the project into operation according to the set plan. Up to now, most of the items such as cooling tower, warehouse and repair workshop, administrative building, water treatment area, wastewater treatment area, ash storage... have been 100% completed, ready for testing and operation.
Construction workers at the site always have to work directly under the blazing sun. Each person has a job, everyone hopes that the first biomass power plant project of the province will be completed soon, contributing to the socio -economic development of Hau Giang.
The machines are mobilized to the maximum to ensure the best support for the workers' work. The investor is determined to put the project into operation on schedule approved by the province.
Workers are fully equipped with protective clothing and tools while working, ensuring compliance with occupational safety and hygiene principles at the project site.
Due to the nature of the work, workers have to work under the scorching sun, so everyone tries to complete their work quickly and accurately. Despite the urgency, the principles and labor protection equipment to ensure safety while working are always followed.
Working under the hot sun, workers take a break to drink water to cool down and stay healthy.
The investor hopes that the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment will support and guide the unit to soon complete land lease procedures before the project is approved to commercially generate electricity for unit 1.
Regarding the 22kV line, due to compensation work, the route must be adjusted during implementation. The project is expected to be synchronized for the first time in October 2024 and the adjustment of the 22kV line must be approved before this time.
Mr. Tran Van Huyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, highly appreciated the working environment at the project, and at the same time, requested the locality to continue to coordinate with investors and contractors to complete procedures according to regulations, remove difficulties so that the factory can run a trial run and operate commercially as planned.
