This is the first time Disney has collaborated with Leica on a product like this. Since the early days of filmmaking, Walt Disney has used Leica cameras to create precision in his animation storyboards.
Disney said they changed the filmmaking techniques of the time, and they were so effective and influential that the term “Leica Reel” was used to replace the usual film noun for the images assembled on 35mm film.
The drawings on the main body are pencil sketches drawn by Disney designers (specifically Don Towsley) in 1937.
The top of the device is engraved with Mickey Mouse, and the device comes with a “Mouse House” patterned bag and black strap.
The product has a separate strap box, the 2 ends of the strap are covered in leather with Disney and Leica logos.
The number will be engraved near the back screen instead of on the hot-shoe as is traditional.
The device comes with a 28mm Summilux f/1.7 lens, the lens cap is made of metal with a velvet lining inside. The red Leica logo is still on the left side of the device.
The rear screen can still be used with the familiar 3 function buttons and navigation buttons. The EVF electronic viewfinder has a resolution of 3.68MP.
The Leica Q2 Disney's autofocus speed is the same as the regular version at 0.15 seconds with the Maestro II processor inside.
Leica Q2 "100 Years of Wonder" will be sold in only 500 units worldwide for 175 million VND.
