On the evening of June 9, a working delegation of the Vietnam Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Association (VFRA) led by Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Deputy Secretary General of the Association, in coordination with the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Dong Nai Province, the Military Command of Long Thanh District and Loc An Commune (Dong Nai) visited, encouraged and shared the loss with the family of Captain Nguyen Hoang Minh (born in 1985), from Loc An Commune, Long Thanh District, Dong Nai Province, Deputy Political Commissar of Battalion 4, Water Special Forces Brigade 5 (Special Forces Corps),
Captain Nguyen Hoang Minh heroically sacrificed his life while saving three children from drowning at the beach of Vinh Loi 1 village, My Thanh commune, Phu My district, Binh Dinh province.
At the meeting, the association representative presented a Certificate of Gratitude in recognition of Captain Nguyen Hoang Minh's noble gesture and spirit of selflessness for the community; and presented a support amount of 20 million VND from the "For a peaceful life" Fund to his relatives to help share the difficulties and encourage the family to soon overcome this great loss.
Previously, at around 5:30 p.m. on May 28, Captain Nguyen Hoang Minh, while walking with his family at the beach in Vinh Loi 1 village, My Thanh commune, Phu My district, Binh Dinh province, discovered 3 children drowning. Comrade Nguyen Hoang Minh, without hesitation, immediately jumped into the sea to save them. After bringing all three children to shore safely, Comrade Nguyen Hoang Minh was exhausted and breathed his last on the way to the medical facility.
The sacrifice of comrade Nguyen Hoang Minh is a great loss to his family, comrades and society, but it is also a shining example of the sense of responsibility, courage and sacrifice of a soldier of the People's Armed Forces. Comrade Nguyen Hoang Minh's brave action is a living symbol of the spirit of "sacrificing oneself for the people".
The Vietnam Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Association expresses its deep gratitude for the heroic sacrifice of the comrade, and will spread that beautiful image in the community, especially in today's young generation, arousing good values in society, fostering the spirit of chivalry, humanity and community responsibility in every Vietnamese citizen.
